TempestV Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) I have a Saitek.Pro Flight Quadrant which I have successfully used along with my trusty AV8TR joystick in Rise of Flight, various helicopter/jet modules in DCS , IL2 1946 and Cliffs of Dover (Team Fusion patch) and FSX. Despite my best efforts I can't get the Saitek Quadrant to be recognized in game. Specifically In Key Mapping it will register the movement showing the throttle being selected when I move it (i.e. Joy2_B6 or something like that) but there is nothing on right side of key mapping to select to show any range of movement or adjust curves. Unlike my throttle my AV8TR stick which does show and is recognized in game. FWIW -small rant-I can't understand why the developers didn't use the key mapping they had in Rise of Flight. It was simple to use (at least for me.) in changing keys, getting the joystick setup for specific planes, calibrating.. Anyway- help would be appreciated. Edited November 27, 2016 by TempestV
Sokol1 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) Joy2_B6 Several people use this controller in this game. Joy2_B6 is button and not axis. For what function (command) you are trying assign? For functions that accept axis, example Propeller Pritch in Yak-1 (1) move the lever back and forth fast and several times to be recognized. (1) Mind you that only certain commands can be mapped in axis, and some commands is planes exclusive, work for one model but not for other, maybe are trying set one these. TempestV Posted November 27, 2016 Author Posted November 27, 2016 I just want to use it as a throttle. I don't like using the throttle on the Joystick. Like my right hand on the joystick and my left on the throttle.
kissklas Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Don't push the throttle all the way back, because below zero counts as a button press. Also, remember to to what the axis mapping tutorial tells you. Start with the throttle in the middle. Push it to 100%, then pull it to 0%. It should recognise the axis once you reach 0. Just don't go past the notch, or the button might register. Best, Klas
TempestV Posted November 28, 2016 Author Posted November 28, 2016 kissklas-I wouldn't have figured that out in a million years! That was the ticket. Thanks.
kissklas Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 You are very welcome! The quadrant is very good, especially compared to the one on the stick. Used it for a long time, and still use it for pitch and mixture, but I got a X-65F throttle off ebay for power and other functions. More buttons!
