jaydee Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Hi lads ! I have just spent 4 hours flying the Yak 127 and the IL 16. I haven't "Flown" BOX in Months. I wasn't Happy about a Few things which I am not going to "Drag Up" here in this this Post. So I Lurked the Forums and watched what was going on in DDs... Even though I wasn't Flying, I still supported the Devs by buying the new releases. Nothing from my "OLD 46" wishlist was getting me Excited so I gave up and started Playing another "Genre". Today, I setup my Generic Controls for All Planes(NO other Sim does this). Took me Five more Minutes to adjust the Plane Specific Variables such as Cowl/Water Rad open/close etc....To Me , No other SIM allows the ease of "Double Binding" in its Controls/settings Menu... I have the Same Buttons on my Hotas for "Open Water Rads" (Yak) as I have "Open Cowl" in Il16.... I can never fly Both at the same time so the appropriate Settings are Dependent on what Plane I fly.....Show me Another Sim that Provides this "user friendly" menu ? I am Glad I took a Break. I have only spent 4 hours Flying and I feel BOX has come on in "Leaps and Bounds".... If you are Angry, take a Break ! j ~S~

If you like civil sims ( I do :-) ) try the recently released X-Plane 11 ( demo available ) with their new excellent interface, as functional ( even more actually ) than il2, because of the multitude of additional categories of control inputs. wtornado Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I do not even fly once a week anymore.. I am waiting for a fully functional co-op system like in Rise of Flight and co-op missions to go along with it. I have been waiting 3 years in here I can wait another year if need be. Star Citizen put up a mega special this week so I was busy looking at the new 2.06 patch specs. 1

It's coming: - CO-OP Multiplayer Game Mode (ROF-like to start) http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/25072-announcing-battle-kuban-and-development-plan/
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I bounce back and forth from sim to sim. I do agree setting up controls in BOX is very easy and quick. Having ROF for years I'm used to the GUI. Since I started flying this again I noticed a few things, like the ground handling doesn't seem as bouncy as it was. Look at some of the older videos made..a plane wheels hop in taxi like a low rider! And Yeah I may like the click pits and study sims but its nice to just hit start and get in the air sometimes. Waiting for the co-op as well and the HS-129, its dead meat without air cover but one of my favorites in '46 to fly.
ShamrockOneFive Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Variety is the spice of life. When flying in IL-2 isn't on the menu for the evening, give War Thunder, IL-2 1946, DCS, Battlefield, ARMA, whatever else you play a go. I switch around from thing to thing and it makes me appreciate what is available in each product and what each offers in various different aspects.
Guest deleted@30725 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) We're not designed to do one thing only and games a flawed by our imperfect nature. No game is ever going to be perfect because we all aspire to perfection in a different way and neither can games be developed graphically for the top of the line graphics processors on the market since 50% of an audience uses mid to low spec computers. What's perfect one week is boring a week later. Things that annoy us become less annoying with breaks. I hate my best friends if I spend all my time with them, does that mean I hate them. Something a break cures and the time apart keeps that friendship alive because anything done all the time no fun. Try and listen to your favorite song for 7 hours on repeat. You'll probably hate it. Listen to it once a day for 7 days - you might be a bit tired of it. Listen to it once every week for 7 weeks and you'll probably be really enjoying it every time, but since you're only human and really like it you'll probably actually play it for 7 hours on repeat and get sick of it only leaving it for several weeks and wondering why you didn't play it more. Wulf Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Okay wow, that's embarrassing. So this has nothing to do with 'impotence' then? Fine. I was never here.
Sparviero_ITA Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) If you are Angry, take a Break ! j ~S~ Undoubtedly one of the best tips about this....title. If you like it...well,and if not...take a break and check around for another SIM fly. So later, you can compare which one it's the best for their own needs and expectations, and maybe later, you will come back to play IL2 BoS in enjoy way. That's not my case because i'm still in break .....but it does not matter....the concept it's right. +1..................(งツ)ว Edited December 1, 2016 by ITAF_F_Baracca
