Is the game bugged or was he cheating?

Recommended Posts

Actually i don't report stuff but this is weird. I don't wanna accuse him of "cheating", it could be a game bug or something for sure!

In the Video u can see how he is shooting and shooting and it was seen ingame and in the demo. Also he didn't take any damage. We had this issue once at TAW server.

This time it's on WoL. I didn't know which conclusion we had about the thing before but i don't know maybe someone who knows what it could be.

Video

it starts at 0:30 and 3:08 u can see some good hits but not result.

S!

Reminds me of the days when the russki squads ROSS and BY were rampantly cheating all over the place in original IL-2. When caught tried to play the innocent card. If there is a way to cheat people will do it.

Reasons like that is why i don't understand that they implement an anticheat thingy. I mean even Team Fusion managed to do it so why doesn't 1C?

Gentlemen,

Evidently it is a Bug!!!!  (Or Lag, or Netcode problem)

Bug Server or Opponent Computer Bug, becouse in my PC these continuos shooting didn' t appear and, moreover, I have taken damages on  both my wings.

Ask eventually to Developers how it is possible that these things could exist!

I am to disposal of the whole Community for posting any file of my installed program to verify and, if possible, solve these inaccettable situation.

I payed a lot of money to buy this Program and the result is that I have in my hand a Program regularly installed and without any modification and now I have to prove my honesty?

My program was installed and updated by Steam therefore is verifiable in any moment by Developers.

Here my message to Meo, in order to clarify the situation:

Hi Meo, I am Cipson,

coordinator of Wings of Italy.

I apologise for the inconvenience but I assure you that no modification was done on my Program, moreover installed and updated by Steam, therefore my local Files are verifiable without problem by Developers. No problems to give them the authorization to do any verification, if useful to solve the problem.

Moreover in my PC al those fire did'n happened and I had both my wings damaged by your fire.

The problem, probably, is the Netcode which bad reports to Players the real situation

At  your disposal for any further explanation.

Your Faithfully
Cipson

In many years of battles on the old IL2 I've never seen ROSS and  BY cheating ...
Here it is clear that it is a bug or a connection problems.

Or maybe Yak was equipped with german weapons

Maybe a netcode problem. It clould be intressting to retry this duel on a server with similar ping. If both players make tracks i should be possible to compare the hit detection and rendering. Maybe with different amount of players to generate various workload.

I fly with (and against) Cipson since a long time ago.

He's absolutely not a cheater.

disconnexion, net flux problems ok, but cheating never !

I didn't know which conclusion we had about the thing before but i don't know maybe someone who knows what it could be.

With the way his guns are firing non-stop clearly the game has bugged out - so its not a stretch to see that hit detection could also be broken. Even if you had unlimited ammo, you wouldn't hold down the trigger as;

a) you attract attention from everyone within 10km

b) tracers and muzzle flash mess with your view

It clould be intressting to retry this duel on a server with similar ping.

I think this was likely a one off incident and probably difficult to replicate. Heading to a duel server would probably just demonstrate normal behavior.

I think i have to admit that it was wrong to write "cheating". I also think it was some game bug or error.

i am sorry for that.

Cipson, In defense of the OP, he does ask if this could be a bug.  After watching the video, I'd say this is some sort of a bug and not a cheat.  Why would he continue firing the whole time?  I wonder if some of the players in the background saw continuous firing?

Posted

Okay okay we all agree that this was not cheating but now more important, what is that? which kind of bug. Developers should check this bug out.

Posted

The continuous shooting is probably simply due to the "player stopped firing" message getting lost. Typically game network protocols include redundancy, so that this kind of message is sent multiple times, but even that is not always enough.

As for the lack of inflicted damage, I don't know. It's not clear to me what is the authoritative source. Is it the client of the shooter? The client of the target? Or the server?

I analysed better the Video comparing with my remembers.

I that moment my Ping was 16 ms, therefore I dont think to a Lag Problem, infact my opponent get me a couple of time, hitting my left and right wing, therefore my position was accurate for my opponent.

The problem was that the data pack relating my damages didn't coming back to my opponent, the same for the "stop fire" indication.

It means that these Data packs (Damages and Fire) didn't returned back from the path "Client-Server-Client", and the other Player saw what was in the Video.

In reality my plane was damaged on wings and engine and was losting black dim, but also this situation in the 2nd Client Video didn't appears.

Definitely a Net Transmission Error, but not for all Data (position was correct) but only for Damages and Weapons Data.....

Now the word to Specialists, becouse my competence here stops.

Lets be more careful with the cheating accusations.

If it's a cheat it's the worst cheat ever.Clearly a bug.

My girlfriend just yelled up the stairs "what are you laughing at up there?"

She just wouldn't get it.

This is so funny, and the Benny Hill music...... a classic!

Quite clearly a game issue and not a cheat.
