Where Virtual Reality technology will be in 5 years time

Last October Michael Abrash was making predictions about where VR will be in 5 years time:

we will see 4Kx4K resolution per eye, 140º FOV, 30pixel/degree, variable depth of focus,... All this sounds very promising, I hope he will not fail in this predictions.

 

On one side I am very happy to live in the time when VR has taken off and see how fast it is evolving now, (and of course the support of BOS in VR)

but on the other side, I have some fears about how all this stuff is going to influence how we play and ultimately live, including our kids. It will be so inmersive that we will not want to get out of VR.
