Editing BoS .trk files? Is it possible?

Hi,

I'm just gettting into BoS having had it for quite a while but not flown it.

Just wondered if .trk files from Flight Records can in any way be edited with some 3rd party app?

Or is it just a case of do the best you can with cameras and angles etc. during the recording itself?

Cheers.

Had a problem with trying to record a mission with the below method?

Tried using nVidia Shadow Play from GeForce Experience to screen record a quick mission for testing out editing etc.

Upon loading into the flight portion of the sim the screen froze solid with a black screen and only a faint overlay of the mini-map visible?  Required a hard reset of my PC as Alt-Tab or Ctl-Alt-Del etc didn't respond?

I've had a few lock ups like this when just exiting the game through the normal menu sequence as well?  Same deal, freezes to black screen and need hard reset of system to get back to desktop?

Was running the Shadow Play FPS counter as well at the time?

Any clues guys, will re-post this in the bugs forum as well.

Thanks.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. As far as I know there is no way to edit these files but I would not know why you would want to do that in the first place. maybe you can explain that a little bit further.

Regarding cameras and angles: You can use all cameras and angles you want to see, just press the corresponding view buttons. On a side note: Pre version-2.004 tracks will not work anymore.

I get the occasional game crash.  I run SweetFX and I was running the ShadowPlay FPS counter all the time.  When I fly now I make sure Nvidia Experience is off and this seems to have helped with the frequency of game crashes.

For making videos I generally record every flight I make.  Afterwards, If I feel I've done something worthy of a movie then I'll exit the game, fire up ShadowPlay and make recordings from the track I'm replaying.  This way, I can try and be creative with the games view systems.

Hi guys,

Regarding the recording, yes i'm now pretty much using DD_Arthurs method above.

As far as the crashes go i have had 2 more today, one when using just the Shadow Play FPS counter but that was only after an hour oe so of flying and it was only when i exited the sim via the normal meu route.

then, later i had another without Shadow Play running at all and again it happens when i just try to exit the sim normally?  It's a real pain to be honest?

Other than the above i cannot believe i haven't played this more!!!  Everything about this sim is so ultra-realistic!  The graphics, sound and effects are the best i've seen in ANY flight sim since i started in '93 with Microprose F-15E Strike Eagle 3!!!!

Awesome piece of work, big ups to the devs!!!
