Atmosphere of aerodromes, objects and aircraft parked.

Hello,

The airfields in the PWCG countryside are a bit deserts.

I did a test by adding parked planes and vehicles objects available in the editor's block, with the German Tusov "aerodrome and some Russian airfields to the east of the Volga.

It is enough to replace the attached file in the folder stalingrad under input in PWCG.

Lines for the file "groundobjects"

It is better to do a saving of the oirigine file before.

Add for groundobjects.txt

I will give this a try, are you going to do the other maps, look pretty time consuming?

I did notice some airfields where there were planes with covers over the cockpit on the BOM map.

Patrick must have done some work there.

I will d/l and try this as well.

Thanks for the effort.

EDIT:

I probably did something wrong.

I looked into your file (add for groundobjects.txt) and noticed it was much smaller compared to Patricks file (groundobjects.config) .

So I edited the text of your file into the one from Patrick and I did not notice any difference on the Tusov airfield.

Where did I go wrong?

Hello,

Do not use my file as it is.

You have to copy the lines of my file to the end of the Patrickb file using Notepad.

Make me a return,

And I'll do other aerodromes.

Good game

OK, it's not a problem that the index number is the same?

It doubles another object created by PWCG.

In this picture: Left is PWCG file, right window is your file.

It would only be a problem if you loaded the file in the ME.  PWCG reassigns id numbers every mission so it should be OK.

Hello,

For me , the file with the text added to the file of Patrick works without problem and I have planes and vehicles parked in Tuzov.

Now I have to find the time to do the same for other aerodromes.

The important thing is to make realistic parking ... if possible using the pictures of the time ..

Well, Marco, I have a problem using this.

As I copy your text into the PWCG file and want to save it, I get a Unicode warning. When I save as unicode, and start PWCG the campaign of this squadron (1 /ZG1 at august 10 1942) won't start or generate missions.

Other campaigns have no issues.

EDIT: I'm using notepad as editor.

EDIT2:

Never mind. I did another try this afternoon and now it all works. I haven't got the foggiest as to what happened, but restarting the rig and trying again did it.

Happy camper and I can confirm the Tuzov airfield looks a lot better.

I'd be happy, very happy, if you could do some more airfields like this. Looks great.

Can those static models be destroyed during an airfield raid?

Notepad can become unhappy with unicode.  I find that Notepad++ is a better option all around.

Hi Marco, thank you for sharing this. It is really nice done. I prefer flying the 109G2, but after I, indeed, managed to install this, I gave the F4 a try, and especially the big parking area at the western end is looking really great. The only thing, that is still missing is a AAA battery, so russian fighters can not attack me on the ground, after I have landed, without getting punished by the airfield defense. I can only recommend all users of PWCG, to give it a try.

The batteries are there but they only show up when enemy aircraft appear

But I was in one of my last missions two times strafed by two Yaks and no AAA firing on them. Will send an error report, next time.

Hello,

Thank you for your compliments, delighted that the development of Tuzov you like.

I will think about it with pictures of time.
Tusov was the main aerodrome of germans fighters.

I will work on the of ju87 airfields   now.

I use static objects from the mission editor that the "groundobject" files can read.

In these objects there are planes and fixed vehicles that are not active ... by cons I can put some in wrecks version for the atmosphere.

That's why I can not add active artillery, I leave that to Pat.

Makes sense, as this would be an intervention in the missions.

Are those airfield batteries made entirely of mg`s?

I haven`t yet seen any light or heavy AA guns on airfields.

When I fly ground attacks on russian airfields with 109 or 110, there is always one light AAA on the runway. Which leads to the question, why is it placed on the runway and not near the runway, like the M4s?

Marco, one question, I parked my Friedrich now the first time at the eastern parking area, and now I noticed there are also parked an I16 and a Mig3, was this done on purpose?

Hello,

I left some planes abandoned by the VVS ... some intact but also wrecks .. some wrecks of planes and vehicles are also in the countryside around.

I did this because it is symbolic of the retreat of the Russian armies and confirmed by numbers of photographs or German aircraft of the Russian planes abandoned

Thanks for the answer. This was, what I thought, as they were not standing in a row, but I was not sure, so I asked.
