Thanks to all those that take time to make missions. I have started to look at the tutorials and it takes some time. We are starting to look at the possible move into BOS We fly DCS now and some are showing interest in BOS. Would anybody like to share a mission that is dogfight that can be used for training? Where you have proximity triggers for dogfighting with also ground objects to take out. I have searched through the many missions you all make and I am grateful. I can change planeset but those proximity triggers don't have down yet. Something with flying Russian planes would be nice.

Dogfight Duel mission.

2 flights of 2 friendly AI german fighters

3 wings of 2 enemy AI russian fighters ... pretty much one of each type

(simply change the aircraft to your liking)

 

each wing respawns with an adjustable delay when destroyed (including friendly)

 

choose (or edit SPAWN AIRBASE) to start, unlimited # of aircraft available, with airstart

most aircraft (russian and german) are selectable

Thanks Supersqwack I will look into them That was real nice. I am learning more about groups. Taking parts of missions and making groups. I am building one that will have fighters, bombers and tanks to drive for squad members. Might just throw in a practice escort on one part of map. If I finish it you can look at if you would want it. I have a mission that has air and land start bases, there are 4 groups of fighters that spawn (random types of AC) whenever the last group lands or is destroyed, they make a pass over one of the friendly bases and head back home. Every second fighter group also a random chosen group of bombers spawns to attack same base. Land targets (regenerating after being destroyed) for training bombers and jabo in the form of so called "warehouses", ships, a train, and an airstart heading to an X marked target for high alt or dive bombing training.

 

If you want it I can send it to you. The setup is for OKL planes but we just set the types and you are good to go :)

Here is the one i made for my squad. You can use it for german and Russian. But the main goal is the ground attack. You have ground start and air start at several altitude for bomber training. The mission include all the planes.

Be careful. In that mission, any players can reset the mission. I gave that possibility, because only a few player had admin right on the dedicated server. So, to reset the mission, you have to spawn on the russian airfield which is in the botom right corner (use zoom to see it), it can be hide by the start button. Select the IL2 and spawn. Do not move and wait 10 or 20 seconds (i don't remember), and the mission will reload.

Habu and Volker you guys are great. This is like the old IL2 community I am use too. I flew Il2 when it was beta back in 2000. We are squad AG-51 back in those days and now. We loved the Pacific with carriers. Volker thanks for the offer, do you need my email to send.

I have a couple of simple basic training missions I have made using the Moscow map. One in particular may suit. two airfields each for allies and axis, ground and air targets in between both sets of bases and all aircraft available. Mostly ground starts but some air starts. I also have both Autumn and Winter versions of this scenario.

Scenarios are suitable for singles, Co-op multiplayer vs AI or player vs player.

 

Drop me a PM if interested and I'll zip it up and make it available.

Thanks all. I cant thank you all enough. Now we can fly some and I can learn from the missions you gave me to be a mission builder. In DCS we can give reputation to those that help. In BOS is there something like that?

To understand the mission editor :

 

- You have to understand what is en Entity.

- The link Add Target

- The link Add Object

 

And ask you some question. The question will help you to solve many problems. For exemple about a plane which must take off.

 

Q1 - when i want my AI plane take off ?

As soon the mission begin : use a mission begin link to the command take off

After a few minutes after the mission begin : use a mission begin link to Timer which is link to the command take off

After an ennemi plane enter in an area : use a complex triger or check zone link to the command take off

 

Q2 : Which IA should take off

Link the command take off to the AI (you have to choice between the add target or the add object, understanding what kind of link you have to use is very important to understand how work the editor).

 

Q3 : Where the AI go after take off

Use the Advanced propertie of the plane to link the plane and the waypoint

 

Q4 : Where the AI fly after the first waypoint and for which AI plane is that waypoint (i use that and not these waypoints)?

Use a link between the waypoint, and use a link for each waypoint to the plane which has to follow these waypoints.

 

 

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. But do not try to build a complex mission if you begin. For a first mission, try to build a flight of 3 AI which take off and land with a plane for a player. Then change that mission to a multiplayer mission.

 

 

For the reputation, next to a green arrow in the bttom right, you have a grey button with zero. It can be green if a reputation point has been given.

Don't worry. No zombies, werewolves or vampires in any way involved in the files I've distributed. Just the newest version of my little training map in both summer and winter versions with credit for the groups properly ascribed to our Prangster  :biggrin:
