Possible to change in-game aircraft labels via a .CFG file someplace?

Hey, everybody.

 

I prefer flying with the icons turned on.  Tired old eyes, you know.  

 

However, having to see the full-blown aircraft names while swirling about in a dogfight is a bit much.  Surely there must be a .CFG file someplace that I can open up with Notepad to change this?  I remember being able to do that in older sims, where I was able to replace the intrusive aircraft names with an asterisk or some other symbol.
