fjacobsen Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Please fix the JU-87 Stuka AI or tell how to setup a mission where the AI wingmen will take off and follow the player lead without crashing og getting stuck at low altitude !! Or maybe someone has a few tricks how to properly setup a mission with it´s waypoints, that makes them behave correctly. FinnJ
Jade_Monkey Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) Upload your mission. Ill take a look. (Im not a dev btw) Edited November 14, 2016 by Jade_Monkey
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Finn, post in the mission section of the forums. Lots of mission designers have made the Stuka work just fine
Dakpilot Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Maybe have a look at the default Stuka mission that came with the game, they behave correctly in that. perhaps some hints in the mission files? Cheers Dakpilot
fjacobsen Posted November 14, 2016 Author Posted November 14, 2016 Upload your mission. Ill take a look. (Im not a dev btw) Thank You for Your offer. Here is my mission files: JU_87_TO.zip Best regards Finn
Jade_Monkey Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Hi Finn, What's your problem exactly? They planes don't take off, or they never climb? I tested it and all planes climb after me with no crashes. I noticed this but I'm not sure if it would even cause the problem: You are giving the first waypoint order twice. The first time at the same time as the takeoff order (1s after mission begin) and then again with an event from the players plane (on takeoff blue line). You only need the second one, the first order doesn't do much. Try the mission without the arrow highlighted here: I hope that helps somehow.
fjacobsen Posted November 15, 2016 Author Posted November 15, 2016 Thank You Jade_monkey I have made some tweaks and additions to my mission and it seems to work now. But the AI wingmen seems to be less able to climb as the player. It seems to be very important to periodically to slow down and let them keep up with You as the flight lead, shepparding all the way up to altitude. They follow me up to 2500m, but restrain themself from going up to 3000m, which is the attack altitude, but they still conduct a proper dive attack, dropping their boms within the attack area. Here are my current mission files: JU_87_TO.zip Finn
Riderocket Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Maybe try give them less fuel? I don't know, lucky guess
fjacobsen Posted November 16, 2016 Author Posted November 16, 2016 Maybe try give them less fuel? I don't know, lucky guess They have only ½ full tanks. Maybe their supercharges does not shift into higher gear.
fjacobsen Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 (edited) I have now made a few adjustments, which brings the waypoints farther away from each other to reduce the climb gradient. Now the AI has an easier time to follow me up to altitude, but they still need alot of shepparding to stay in formation.Flying too slow (let's say 220km/h) makes it hard for them to climb. Flying faster (let's say 250km/h where climb rate is better) makes it hard for them to keep up with me. But by constantly changing speed to either climb or let them keep up, makes it possible to bring them into dive attack position, which they effectively do from an altitude of 3000 m.But when they landed, they do so in close formation and thus crash into each other on the runway.
