joshjosh0805 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I've spent around 2 to 3 hours playing just campaign now because I'm getting bored of using the 2 planes I'm given at the start. I've finished Chapter 1 and halfway through Chapter 2 but I still haven't unlocked any planes yet, how much of this boring campaign must I play just to get a new plane because it's becoming extremely stale and repetitive.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Appears there is a lot of this version of the game popping up recently. If you buy the western version of the game, you would have all the planes unlocked already. Your going to have to keep grinding unfortunately.

I bought it off G2A.com because my friend said I can get it a little cheaper there, so I should have the planes? That sucks....
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 There was a version released in one market that was considerably cheaper which only had two planes unlocked - players had to work through single player campaign to unlock the other planes. Previously you could see what experience level you required until the next plane was unlocked. Western versions of the game (which were more expensive), didn't come with locked planes. It's the price you pay for buying from a non-official store I suppose.
Custard Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) That's what happens if you buy a cheapo Moscow-Oblast slav version of the game. However if you're interested in the best way to grind, I found the best way was to play long missions on expert difficulty and make use of time acceleration with the [ & ] keys. That way you get around 200xp per completed sortie. Enough to fully unlock a plane in 10 missions, though often considerably less, as for planes like the Yak-1 the field mods weren't worth the grind. So get grinding sucker. Edited November 13, 2016 by Custard
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 If you go on the main menu, click on Profile I think. It will tell you the progress until the next aircraft. I've seen that version pop up at a few Gamestops in Sweden, by the way. Came with a little map and all, but I never bought it to confirm if it's the very same.
joshjosh0805 Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Just checked the G2A page and it says comes with 8 aircraft so I'm going to contact their support and ask for a refund then I'll buy the game directly from the IL2 site 4
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 That's the spirit! Welcome to the addiction.

ArmyDuck Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I sense Cool-Aid being passed around. Drink up fanboys.
Mac_Messer Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Someone is getting their account taken away.
Rjel Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) I sense Cool-Aid being passed around. Drink up fanboys. I prefer Kool-Aid. Maybe Cool-Aid is a cheaper knock off version? How many gallons do I need to drink before I get the grape flavor? Edited November 19, 2016 by Rjel
