How to fight against T-34?

Hi,
Im definitely a pilot but in the last time I tried my forces in tank battles online... but...
when Im in T-34 almost all is well but when Im in PzKpfw III I can shot, shot, shot and shot again and sometimes T-34 recived 15 bullets (!) and I see nothing!
No any effect. To destroy PzKpfw III I need 1-2 hits, but for T-34 I think too many, the hull is too strong or what?

:salute:

btw. it looks nice for me and Id like to see in the one day campaign for Single Player also (wishes.., I know):

The 50mm in the Panzer III struggles against the angled hull of the T-34. It is better to fire at the "cheeks" in the frontal turret, or aim at the machinegun port of the hull for example.

The Pz III had 2 advantages to a T-34

Higher rate of fire and better vision buttoned up.

Besides that, all advantages to the T-34.

The 5cm KwK will not be penetrating anything but vulnerable spots unless within 100m or so. While the T-34 has the gun to pen the Pz III mostly anywhere within 500m.

Remember, the T-34 was the reason the Tiger was developed in the first place. Early war, Soviets had hard line advantages considering armor with the T-34.

Basically, you don't want to be taking a front on attack and filing it out with a T-34. It will mostly not end well for the Pz III.

I haven't tried the tanks since I've barely even had time to fly lately, but that looks like fun.

Guns seem to traverse unrealistically fast...or is that just me?

I completely see the pucker factor of trying to avoid/stay hidden from player controlled aircraft while attempting

to overtake an objective.

The germans made the 50mm L60 to beat the t34. Is not the best gun because they had to stay at close range but from 100 is capable to penetrate the T34 if he is nit turned that gives himm more inclination to his armor. From sides it should be easy and also on the turret from the front. In the game i find do difficult to penetrate the turret but is the weak part on the front.

So to fight against T34 in the open field is real difficult. In a village you have some chance.

The Panzer IV and stugIII should be T34 destrollers with his 75 long gun.

I do tanks a bit.

In a panzer,

First, posture.  I haven't found any real advantage to to diagonaling the hull (shooting over a your own drive sprocket), you'll lose a track or blow up. Stay square and keep your applique armor forward.

Second, aim for existing ports in the hull and turret.  The gun can be knocked out with a direct hit, and the gunsight and co-ax gun ports on either side can give kills.  The hull front will give kills at the machine gun or (better) the front edge radius casting.  The hatch edge is not an in-game weakness.

Shooting at the side hit below the sponson, but not the wheels or tracks, or the turret side (the view port if possible).  For the life of me I can't tell whether in-game the gunsight is offset left of shot or not (it should be but I go back and forth on it) so I guess just put the pipper where you want to hit.

The KV-1 is a much harder nut to crack, but, if you can get within about 200 meters (haha) at the side or rear (square) five shots (->maybe<- four but never six - lol) will get it.  Almost* like a health bar thing.

The very best quality T-34s of the war, the ones that sparked the legend, were the initial production models.  The very worst were the Stalingrad built.  They had very poor (out of control?) metallurgy and the armor rolling and hardening quality are questionable.  After the manufacturing move east metallurgy remained a problem in general, specifically excess sulfur.  At least one plant had significant rolling and hardening issues.  After the initial shock of the first T-34s, they were never quite able to cause that sort of panic again.  The transmissions were always a problem and led to the direct intervention of Stalin.  The thing just kept breaking down, and one unit forced into a long road march didn't embark until every T-34 had a spare strapped to the hull.  An Aberdeen analysis of the transmission (post Stalin improvement program) said it was one of the very finest quality pieces of industrial manufacturing they'd ever seen from Russia but the basic design was fundamentally flawed.
