=38=Tatarenko Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Hi Jason, Please could you lay out the rationale for turning off the Early Access every week? Surely your team can work on the new build while we are still flying the old one? I'm still crashing half my crosswind landings (if you include prop strikes on the bounce) and need all the time I can get! thanks ian
-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 well, in this session i wqas able to map just about every important command i see at this point to me TM warthog, and land both a/c under ideal conditions...so i tihnk before this session ends today i will try my hand at cross wind landings...i am hopeful i get it done right hehe
=38=Tatarenko Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 It's just that it's going to be embarrassing still to be crashing once multiplayer is on
DD_Jabo Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Bear in mind that they probably ARE working on the next build while you're practicing your cross-wind landings but while you're doing that the devs are also gaining valuable information about how the game performs under load and the few days of down-time we have right now are there to enable any bugs found to be fixed before they prep for the next version. There's quite a bit of difference between development roadmap changes and bug fixes. The team are trying to do both and if they need a few days peace and quiet to do that then fair enough. It's just that it's going to be embarrassing still to be crashing once multiplayer is on That'll be two of us then - I wouldn't worry too much about that
=38=Tatarenko Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 Just not sure why they can't do that while we are crashing on the runway. Probably a technical reason but I don't understand it.
BeastyBaiter Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I am fairly certain there will be a lot of "xxx has crashed" in the info window those first few weeks of MP. You will be in good company. Regardless, I don't know why they are restricting it as is but I'm sure they have a good reason. At this point it may have to do with some sort of data collection. They might have to shut the server down in order to review the data collected. Just a blind guess though.
migmadmarine Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I recall them saying that they are working on beefing up security between the client and the server, and that is best done with out the server active, hence the close downs. They have also said it should only be for a few weeks.
-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 well, i just tried that crosswind landing mission for the first time. first attempt as is the norm with my flying skills, the 109 ended up in about 15 different pieces. second attempt i had to do a touch and go on the first pass, second pass i got it. I did the conversion to knots/mph to see how steep a 10 m/s crosswind is...HOLY JEEZE 20 knott crosswind, 22 mph...WOW BAN THE CROSSWIND!
Rigsby Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) I made a similar thread when I asked about playing at weekends and this is what I was told. I am now wondering if this is going to change to weekends only or are the current days going to be extended to the weekends? I do hope this happens soon. We'll move to weekends before we go 24/7. When exactly isn't known at this time. Jason Edited November 29, 2013 by Rigsby
