iNarek94 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 How can I assign right trigger to right pedal and left trigger to left pedal??? I can't take off without having a proper axis for yaw.
Bullets Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 All the help I can give you https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrustmaster-T-4000M-PC-Joystick/dp/B001S0RTU0 1
seafireliv Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Trying to fly a flightsim like this with a gamepad is insanity. Use a joystick. It will even help you understand how aircraft are operated, so you learn something. And no, the Xbox controller is not better in any way or form for a simulater. Change that mindset.
iNarek94 Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 I was thinking about getting a joystick too, it's just that I'm used to my gamepad and have vast experience in using it as a flight sim controller I wish I could assign the triggers for yaw pedals, everything else is fine for me. How do you guys use joystick for yaw though? Don't you need to get some pedals separately for that?
Jade_Monkey Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) The grip twists, so it's another axis. No need for pedals with the entry level joysticks. Some of the more expensive ones dont have twist grip, so you need pedals. Edited November 11, 2016 by Jade_Monkey
Livai Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 And no, the Xbox controller is not better in any way or form for a simulater. Change that mindset. Believe me or not I don't care. I use a Custom modded XBOX Controller flying Expert Mode shooting successful Hotas TrackIR Pilots down. A Game Console Controller is better if you know how to mod him for simulation usage...... 1
-TBC-AeroAce Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 I used a 360 controlled for bos and it works very well + it was competitive!!! The triggers worked as one single axis for 360 maybe Xbox one controller is different Just try asigning the right trigger to the yaw axis and then the left will work as the game sees the triggers as one axis

Ah, the typical control pad gamer who`s so stuck in his ways from Gears of War console playing, he`d rather to fly like a man with a broken arm and pretend it`s great rather than get a feel of what flying might really be like. Frankly, if you don`t care, I don`t care either. Edited November 11, 2016 by seafireliv

Frankly, if you don`t care, I don`t care either. You, sir, have an interesting attitude towards us gamepad users who are comfortable with it, in short, what you say is "you're wrong, I'm right, do as I do". This kind of question assessment just doesn't feel right to me In the end in PvP everything comes down to just one question: who is controlling his preferred device better. I used a 360 controlled for bos and it works very well + it was competitive!!! The triggers worked as one single axis for 360 maybe Xbox one controller is different Just try asigning the right trigger to the yaw axis and then the left will work as the game sees the triggers as one axis Unfortunately it only allows me to either assign 2 buttons, one for each pedal or to use one trigger. When using a trigger, it's mid position is taken as center, a fully retracted trigger is assigned to pressing the right pedal to the full and a pressed down trigger to left pedal. I had to sacrifice my view axis assigned to second stick, but at least I can properly take off and land. Edited November 12, 2016 by iNarek94
Neil Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 I used the 360 controller, but I was not able assign the rudder in the trigger. I think that IL2 should be compatible with this controller because - It is the most used controller in pc gaming, so people without joystick can enjoy IL2 with much better handling. - Some people (like me) use laptop for gaming, so when I go to play with my friend in his house, it is good to play without taking the big joystick. FSX is very compatible with the 360 controller, the good thing is that we can look around with the right stick
sinned Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I would also love xbox controller support. If rudders can be assigned to trigger buttons, i want to switch back to xbox controller.
