Pilot head view

I'm trying to assign pilots head movement to my keyboard and I can't for the life of me get anything to work.

I just want to turn my pilots head to look around!

Is there some secret that I'm unaware of to get the pilots head turn to map on the key mapping page?

No matter what I try I'm stuck in the look foward mode only.

Can anyone help me out here please?

Default is keyboard numpad and F9 to change mode

I'm trying to turn the pilots head from side to side, that is: rotating around the spine.

The num pad keys always have me looking forward.

The head moves but only back and lean to the left or right.

It is still looking straight ahead though...

I have no situational awareness which is a priority for sims

Do you have any other suggestions I could try out?

Look left and right are numpad 4 and 6 with F9 changing mode snap/additive/pan

 

are you using a Laptop with limited numpad?

I'm using mouse control for playing until my joystick arrives.

And I have a full PC keyboard.
