It's been a while that I am seeing or reading on the server a misconception and I think we all deserve to know it.

We can't/cannot ditch an aircraft on land, it's is call a crash landing. We ditch an aircraft on water

Heh! Thanks for the info.

Could brush it off as 'ditching into a sea of grass'.

I call them forced landings, myself.

BoMw should be interesting though... I don't like it when my 109 gets a fuel leak over the Isle of Wight in CloD, so what will I do if my A6M gets several holes in it over Midway.

Oh wait, it would probably burn, because Japanese aircraft :P

With enough altitude I used to dead stick the zero across the whole mp(46) map. It was cool cause you could deny someone the kill by dead sticking the landing.

I've also gone through this once. I had to travel the whole channel, as my engine died somewhere between Ramsgate and Sandwich. I even can back it up with pics :D

(took me roughly 20 mins)

Got to agree with the OP: far too many people confuse forced landings with ditching. They aren't the same thing at all. At least, most of the time, though I suppose if you land in really slimy mud it might be hard to be sure...

If you ditch a German plane in the Channel, chances are that your war is over, and that you are captured or killed.
