Guest deleted@30725 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) So I'm having random fps drops whether flying around a map on my own in single player with nothing else, 32 player multiplayer match and single player with bots. Pressing alt tab fixes the situation, but this can be quite hard to do when mid dogfight. Not sure what fps the game runs at normally, but the drop is often to below 30 so you can still play, just reminded me of the micro stutter posts (or was that DCS). Sometimes drops to say 12fps so a lot of delay. For example chasing a group of four planes with 3 allies around. One enemy gets on my tail so I evade. fps drops, alt+tab to desktop and back the game still going my fps returns to normal, smooth numbers with the same amount of stuff being rendered in the game and that pesky enemy still on my tail. I would have assumed the weak graphics card, but the fps would climb once back in open space if this were the case. Maybe this is because il2 is in full screen mode? I've not tested this yet. It's not game breaking since playing 2 rounds it might only happen in one. I generally have some youtube music with static video or other video playing or vlc with a film / music. Virtual machines, etc so nothing too taxing in the background. I don't play any other games (except Quake 2 sometimes) so nothing else to compare it too. I was playing this last year with a phenom 2 x4 965BE, 8GB ram, same graphics card and SSD with (presumably) same fps and no problems. Pc Specs i5-4690k 16GB ram gtx 760 (OC) 1GB Windows 10 with most up to date patch and up to date video drivers. Samsung SSD Il2 Full screen mode - 1920x1080 SSAO Distant Grass Distant Detail X4 FPS limiter off AA x4 Cheers folks. Edited October 30, 2016 by deleted@30725
Guest deleted@30725 Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) Turns out it's because full screen is turned on. Solved all problems turning it off. Thanks. Edited November 1, 2016 by deleted@30725
