LoneStar Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Need help in changing an aircraft in an existing mission. I have tried changing the aircraft one of the missions posted in Han's DD137. It's the Landing with Calm Wind mission. When I try to land with the new aircraft, it disappears below the runway and crashes. I know I missing something with the edit. What have I overlooked or can this be easily done. I'm new at using this editor. It was easy in the old IL-2 1946. Thanks
Habu Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Which plane would you like instead of the mig 3 ?

Then fly with no problems. Did you change/move anything else like way point or airfield or some selection boxes. p.s. although the editor is different once you go through the tutorials on the forum its not so bad and quite flexible. JimTM Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Please post the mission after you changed the plane.
Jade_Monkey Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 The easiest way to swap a model in a mission and not break anything is to click on the unit, and in the properties bar, the model button. Pick the new model and save mission. Al links will work as in the original.

And that's the way i'm going to use. @Jim, as soon i know wich plane Lonestar want, i 'll post the mission.
LoneStar Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 This is crazy! I did nothing today different from yesterday. Opened mission in ME. Selected the plane icon which opened the Plane Properties window. Selected the Plane Model button and changed the plane. Closed the Plane Properties window. Opened the Mission Properties window and changed the Mission Name and Description. Selected Save As for the new plane. Ran the new mission and was able to land on the runway...not under it. I've done this for 6 different planes with no problem...they all work. Anyway THANKS for all the responses. Glad to know we have members ready to provide assistance. @Jim, as soon i know wich plane Lonestar want, i 'll post the mission. Thanks for the offer HABU! I've been able to create/edit the practice missions I need.
JimTM Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Glad to hear that your mission works now. Thanks for your offer Habu. Awhile back, there was a bug that occurred when a player tried to enter a plane. The plane would explode or end up underground, or the player would end up in an external view far away. A solution was to use a text editor to check in the .mission file to see if SeasonPrefix was set to blank and if so, set it to "wi" (winter) or "su" (summer, autumn). I wonder if this is a variation of that problem? Edited October 31, 2016 by JimTM
Habu Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Jim, if you want something, ask and if i can, i'll do it.
