Five minute cinematic from new Dunkirk film

According to the video's description, it's from the movie Atonement. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atonement_(film)

Plus, the video was uploaded in March, when the Dunkirk trailer was released this August.

I actually saw this earlier, and I thought it was from Dunkirk as well.

I for one am curious to see, what Nolan can do with the genre. He's got a talent for making the complex and chaotic accessible to the audience, so I'm hopeful for this movie. English-language war flicks have been sorely lacking for a long time and really needs someone to reinvent the wheel.

He couldn't have picked a better battle to cover, though. Defeats nearly always make the best settings for a war movie.

Looks pretty good.  Must have been a bugger to choreograph though!

A five minutes in one take. That is quite a challenge with all these actors running around. But that is "just" a matter of instructing them, but how did they do that with the horses that got shot down one after the other?

And what CGI is added later on to the scene?

On the other hand what is a five minutes in one take.

The movie Russian Ark is 90 minutes in one take. :P

Nothing will ever top the opening scene in A Touch Of Evil.

Trailer looks great!

Looks kinda promising, but a couple of red flags as well. The old sea-dog saying "There's no hiding from this, son." Is about as cliché as it gets.

Some people are complaining about the Buchons. They want CGI Bf-109s instead.

Personally, I'd rather have real planes. We have plenty of CGI ones in vide games already.

Also, this is the second time Kenneth Branagh has been in a movie with Buchons in Luftwaffe colours.

Why does the "109" chasing the Spitfire sound like a Stuka? xD

Yeah, nah, looks okay.  Most of the outdoor shots show a not too subtle attempt to try and limit the camera view and disguise how few assets and extras they have to work with.  I'm looking forward to it, but it didn't give a real sense of scale.

I don't understand why you can't have real aircraft with a bit of post process CGI edit to achieve a more historically accurate result

probably purely budgetary,  and considered not necessary for what bean counters consider majority market audience.

I once got into trouble on a movie set when I politely pointed out that the wheels of a certain type of aircraft were the wrong colour,

I was was told in no uncertain terms not to upset the art director and only 1% of people would notice or care  :)

Don't worry, the director supposed blew up that ugly Buchón - to avoid use that ugly CGI explosions. ;)

Well, the article says that it's an authentic WWII Luftwaffe aircraft, which it isn't, so I highly doubt it happened.

If that's the case then I for one will not be paying a cent toward it.

It's not the case

I thought the real planes looked great, CGI planes in movies always look off. Even if it isn't a true 109 it's all good.
