D3D error

I downloaded the latest IL-2 upgrade and I get a D3D error message when I launch it. "Can not create Direct 3DDevice"

D3DError_Invalid Call.

 

Anyone else is encountering that problem?

Nvidia just recalled yesterdays game ready driver update... I had crazy artifacts when I turned on my PC today. Like the typical "burnt GPU" artifacts. Get the new hotfixed driver right from their site, and see if it helps! It took care of my issues atleast.

 

Edit: And I see you have the bad driver in question (375.57) The fixed one is 375.63. If that doesn't work try going to "IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010" and reinstall DirectX.

I tried both solutions and it did not work.

Still the same message.

Just an idea: Check you startup.cfg. Check that the resolution is correct. Set the resolution in the config to windowed and see if it runs. I got a similar message if I ran the game full-screen with a bigger resolution than my monitor supported.

We actually thought about the same thing at the same time.

 

My screen resolution is 3440 x 1440. Yet that resolution is not offered in the launcher. Hence the game launcher could not find that resolution producing the D3D error.

I redefined a smaller resolution in the launcher, which succeeded launching the game  this time. I went in the game video setting where the 3440 x 1440 is offered. Changed it there, then restarted the game and IT WORKS!!!!
