SCG_motoadve Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Lets say we get shot and left wing tank is leaking. Is it possible to turn on left tak use remaining fuel and then turn to right fuel tank for the remaining of the flight? Are fuel tanks controls modeled?
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Not yet devs gona do it propebly after the Kuban. Look at question to developers thred.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Nope. Time to do some crop dusting. 1
actionjoe Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 I have never lost fuel while on a real airplane, so some will say that my opinion is worthless, but I always found the fuel leak overdone. I once check what was the fuel loss rate on a 109 when hit, and it was inferior at 25L/min. With a leak that is visually as large as the plane's fuselage and dozens meters long, something seems wrong to me.The game will gain in realism if these effects were more subtle or if more correlated with plane system damage (and in this case, I guess you should be out of fuel in few seconds). 2
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 I can never get that vapour stream to ignite no matter many hits i get on my unfortunate enemy ?

I agree, they do not have self sealing tanks mechanics either. Lots of work in that department.I can never get that vapour stream to ignite no matter many hits i get on my unfortunate enemy ?Yes - another missing element.

And shouldn't the leaks be closed again when the plane has self ceiling fuel tanks? At least to some degree.. Grt
Sokol1 Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 You guys asking for fuel management want a "generic" fuel management, or per aircraft manual? Because the thing can be a little complicated, see in this Ju-88 manual (in English): http://www.allworldwars.com/Ju-88-Flying-Operations-Manual.html

I realize my experience is slightly different. To make a long story short, I experienced a major a fuel leak after taking off from RAF Leuchars. I was leading a flight of two. After takeoff we flew low level over the water along the east coast to RAF Alconbury. My wingman's WSO mentioned to his pilot that it looked like my airplane was generating a contrail...at 500 feet AGL and 480 KIAS (viewed against the background of the North Sea). It appeared to them to be as long as one or two airplane lengths. This is consistent with the way fuel being dumped from the Phantom looked. For those curious, the dump mast is at the trailing edge of the wing, at the wing fold allowing the pilot to dump the internal wing fuel (so Navy F-4s could get down to an allowable trap weight, i.e. carrier landing).
actionjoe Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 And do you have any idea of your fuel loss rate at the moment? Because that's the thing I found odd, the huge contrail is made by a fuel loss inferior to 25L/min.
