Blooddawn1942 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Yep. By now only on Device can be used. Ah ok. Annoying is, that I need to plug the pedals out. The Throttle Quadrant don´t causes any trouble. I have just another question: What is the effect of the three options under the "Yaw into roll" command in the options menu? I don´t get it, sorry for asking a dump question.
Blooddawn1942 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Been through the first couple of missions. I´m impressed! I guess there is really much potential in this game!!!!
6S.Manu Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Alpha 4 is out!!! Many players are steaming now. The Galactic map is amazing! This is one of the first video about the new Hyperspace jump. 1
JughedJughedJones Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I want it very very bad... but I can only justify one expensive pre-release purchase... It looks so awesome though!

Blooddawn1942 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Us unlucky Premium Beta Bastards have to wait for another 14 days.....Aaargh!!
6S.Manu Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I know But at least we can spend 120€ on something else (Steam Summer Sale is coming). And probably the Beta is not going to crash frequently like this Alpha.

TheBlackPenguin Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 I have to move on the 30th of this month, so might be a tad behind on getting into the Premium Beta, however it will be a larger desk and the computer will be out of direct sunlight . TrackIR hates light hitting its sensors! Its a great game so far, I love the hyperspace effects and also super-cruise, although some people have complained it takes too long I think its about right.
DD_fruitbat Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 After sitting watching lots of youtube vids today of the latest alpha version, my excitment level has just been ratcheted up several degrees, i am so looking forward to the 30th, and it is more than compensating my disapointment in bos at the current time, which i have pretty much ditched already.
Blooddawn1942 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Thats gonna be a busy weekend. Star Citizens Dogfightmodul to be released on 29. and Elie beta on 30. Will Track IR work properly in beta stage? In alpha 1, which I only have access to, it don't work...

Blooddawn1942 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Yes, I heard it should work. But am I right that in Alpha 1 it don't work properly? Because my view does the wildest thing like wandering out of center and reversed yaw axis..

DD_bongodriver Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Never played the original or even knew anything about the legend of elite but feel exactly the same, this and the rift will mean I will never bee seen again, my skeletal remains will be found in my gaming chair. 1
FlatSpinMan Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 This looks majestic. I like the message from the maker, too. Seemed genuinely appreciative of the support and also really excited by what they have achieved.
FlatSpinMan Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Whoa! $150 for Premium Beta access!! Hadn't been paying attention to the pricing details till just now. Looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer.
DD_fruitbat Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Does include every future add on expansion for free, longterm it will be a bargin.
DD_Crash Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 The duration of the Premium Beta is unknown but it could last a couple of months so you could be in for a bit of a wait for the beta or gamma release.
Panzerlang Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 It's bloody 'dangerous' alright. I played the original for months until a bug marooned me on a planet (it wouldn't allow me to take off). The 'danger' is getting sucked back in and vanishing forever from WW2. Must...resist...

The wait is absolutely killing me!
Feathered_IV Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Looks good. Is the player able to get up and move about inside or outside their ship? Traveling tens of light years stuck in the same seat without so much as a swivel could get a bit old after a time.
JughedJughedJones Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) Getting out of your cockpit is going to be, most likely, the first expansion. Followed by planetary landings. The ships are already setup with multi-crewed bridges and the like. It's really incredible what they've done in such a short amount of time. Edit: looking at what The head developer has said recently, I could see moving around the ship being available at or soon after launch, probably before a full expansion. 6S.Manu Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) Elite Dangerous: Voice Attack commands, Alpha 4.3 (Cobra MkIII) It's interesting but I'm going to use it since I'll be in TS for most of the time. Edited May 28, 2014 by 6S.Manu
DD_bongodriver Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Maybe set TS up on a press to talk button that disables voice commands as chat. 1
Panzerlang Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 With planetary landings, ability to go walkabout and the Rift, this game is going to be a recipe for malnutrition and bedsores.
=LD=dhyran Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 i gonna trade my first goods this friday ...... yay
DD_fruitbat Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 i gonna trade my first goods this friday ...... yay Me too. And also crash into a space station no doubt! Cant wait.
6S.Manu Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) And also crash into a space station no doubt! Surely I'll crash against someone's ship entering into the station: the game/community is tagged UK, so there'll be some misunderstanding about the right of way. Edited May 28, 2014 by 6S.Manu 1
DD_Crash Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 You can now change or get a new commander name Hi everyone,As most of you probably know, at the beginning of this week we opened up the facility for all alpha and premium beta players to finally change their commander names, through https://support.orerve.net/.'>https://support.orerve.net/. Well today we attempted a batch update of names for the first time, and it turns out a nasty Trumble may have got stuck in the works... :oThe result of this is that any name requests that have been made through orerve.net this week have sadly been lost, and will need to be resubmitted. We're extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused by this, and will busy ourselves with approving all of your commander names in preparation for the beta! The process for submitting your commander name is the same as before:1. Login at: https://support.orerve.net/2. Navigate to the ‘COMMANDER PROFILE’ tab3. Enter your desired new commander name in the ‘Request a New Name’ field and press the ‘Request Name Change’ button.4. If this is approved it will update the commander name at the top of the page.5. If it is automatically denied a red message will appear above the field, stating the reason for the rejection.6. If it is manually denied the player will receive an email telling them that their name has been rejected, once the batch update is complete. If you have any questions feel free to pitch them below, and sorry again!
FlatSpinMan Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 The point about getting future DLC is a good one. I've never actually played a game with that so I've just sort of assumed the game would be complete, like they all used to be (it already looks like it'll have tons of content, btw, I'm not saying it's a weak offering). I guess the DLC costs add up. Still thinking.
