Redglyph Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) Hello, I'm trying to set up my joystick controls for the first time in IL2 BoM, and guessing my way through how it works in the absence of a manual. If found out I had to go into the "key mapping" settings to add joystick / throttle / rudder controls, and not in "input devices", which may seem counter-intuitive, but OK so far. From the start menu, I can map for example the throttle axis to the throttle control (HOTAS throttle in my case, see sig), but it appears to be reversed, I have to push it for the throttle to be pulled to minimum in the game. I haven't found how to reverse it yet. From the game itself, I can reach the same menu (sometimes a glitch makes it disappear), but I can't tune the axis: if I click on the tuning icon, from the "key mapping" table, I get to see the tuning screen but if I move my throttle it has no effect, nothing moves on that screen. I'm going on trying to guess how it works, but so far it seems there are a few problems. I think it's version 16-10-18 (from files I found in the installation directory). In front axis name (joy#_axis#) has a small box with curved arrow - above the "X" - click in this arrow, when highlight the axis response became inverted. http://i.imgur.com/zzoCgqs.png Edited October 23, 2016 by Sokol1
Redglyph Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 Ah yes, spotted it, thanks a lot! Otherwise it seems random, sometimes it's inverted, sometimes not.
zanzark Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 A very simple control mapping wizard would make players life a lot better.
