taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Hi All, just a quick question, I have no problem with fighters with a full bomb load taking off from all strips, but trying to take off with a BF 110 with 2xsc500 is a bit hair raising. I always run out of runway and i'm half way across the next field before i take off !!! And i always try to avoid runways with a line of tall trees at the end, I have tried holding with full throttle, and tried to get the tail up as soon as possible and sometimes with a few degrees of flaps put to no avail ? So whats the trick, or shall i try and ask the Devs for longer runways Cheers
Finkeren Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Since the runways are historical, extending them is definately not an option.

busdriver Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) Hi All, just a quick question, I have no problem with fighters with a full bomb load taking off from all strips, but trying to take off with a BF 110 with 2xsc500 is a bit hair raising. I always run out of runway and i'm half way across the next field before i take off !!! Taffy, I usually only take 50% fuel, use flaps on every takeoff, hold the brakes and advance the throttles before releasing brakes. Some runways are a greater challenge (impossible for me) in the 110 when carrying what USAF guys might call "the crowd pleaser" (the SC 1000). Edited October 22, 2016 by busdriver
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 The 50% fuel seems to solve the problem, tried this with 12 x Sc50 and flaps and also 2 x Sc500 with flaps and just manage lift off with a bit of runway to spare !
Finkeren Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Had a bit of fun taking off with the 110 with 2xSc500 + 4xSc70 and 100% fuel. It's definitely doable, though you have to get the wheels off the ground earlier than would really be safe in real life (around 170 km/h) and prepare for a long slog to get to a point where you can actually start climbing. Still a lot less frustrating than the MiG at the moment.
