LG1.Farber Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Not sure how this works in RoF so forgive if this is already implemented. In IL2 1946 but not in clod your players fate was decided by the front line markers. We can mark the front lines and even neutral parts of the map, but it doesnt mean anything - at all....How it should work:If a player from Army X crash lands/lands or bails over enemy lines they are captured (9times out of ten, this mostly is a provision for future use but I think it should stand anyway), This puts a message in chat: ""Some pilot" was captured" - this is then picked up by the stats and included in the sortie log for that player... Also his stats for kills landed or lived to fly again are effected....If a player from army X lands in there own territory it says so, ""Some pilot" crash landed/bailed/lands in friendly lines".- survived for stats as normal. - this requires no extra work, this is what happens already. - although a server message to work with stats may be beneficial some how?If a player from army X crash lands or bails in the neutral terrrorty, ie the sea, he is... either rescued 5% for british 30% for German (ASR rates approx, in fact the brits were rescued by the Germans mostly then became a POW) or dies of pneumonia/drowning! server message for stats... dead or POW! Appreciate this is east front but its something to think about anyway. All it has to do is record where a player lands, check which army the player is from and which terrortory he is in based on the front line markers and kick out a server message;"So and so was captured""So and so Drowned""So and so parachuted to safety""So and so was picked up by ASR""So and so was captured by enemy ASR""So and so escaped capture"
SYN_Haashashin Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Well in RoF this is implementede let me try to explain to see if I can make it clearly; We can line mark zones, central, entente or neutral. If you land/survive a crash over enemy land there is a chance that you get back, dont know if there is a 9/10 prob or not. but if not it will show you as captured on ingame stats and loose your kill streak. Example; One of my squad mates landed in a zone marked as german but inside allied side (my mistake during mission building) therefor he was captured and lost a kill streak of 22 i think it was. But anyways in RoF the only server message that is kick out are: X is killed, X shot down Y, X exited, Y connected. I think thats all. To see if you are capture you have to look at stats. Maybe in BoS there are more server messages, as the idea of the front lines markers is allready implemented. Hope I did explain it well, English not my mother tounge.
Quint Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 This is in Desastersoft Add Ons for Cliffs of Dover given! Also wounded and KIA, POW and so on...
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Since the game already registers where the layer land/end up, I would think it would be a small job to add some more server messages. I would think this is one ot the more easy ideas to implement.
LG1.Farber Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 No I dont think it would FF however it was a feature over looked in clod so I hope to bring some attention to it so it is not forgotten about in BoS. Being able to set the % chances server side would be a neat provision for different scenarios and theatres.
