Ilya Murometz. Heavy Bomber of the Russian Empire.

Look like Sikorsky S-22 AI flight for me ... RoF equivalent of Ju-52 ;) .

Not quite... I've only been shot down two times by fighters while flying the Ilya Muromets.

The first time, a Fokker E.III holed one of the fuel tanks. We still managed to attack the objective, but ran out of fuel over enemy territory. I glided back, and made a forced landing in a field. The plane was completely intact except for the damaged fuel tank - unfortunate, as we were captured, despite being in walking distance of the Russian lines (as in we could have walked to the Russian lines in under a minute) - but all my crew survived without a scratch.

The second time, I shot down three of the four attacking Roland C.IIas, and managed to make a controlled crash in a river, with all my crew surviving and returning to combat two weeks later. This is similar to the cass of the only Ilya Muromets ever lost to enemy action, which also destroyed three of the attacking fighters (a much, much, much, much more remarkable feat than what I did in a video game!)

I was also shot down two other times by a flak shell destroying the wings. Also, a catastrophic crash happened when I attempted a night landing - but I still survived that (not sure about all the wounded Soldiers directly underneath the burning fuel tanks though).

But, I regularly shoot down entire flights of Fokker E.IIIs in the Ilya Muromets. The thing is a beast! A single Lewis gun can do a lot in 1916

They are a bugger to bring down, was running a few quick missions trying to shoot one down with an Albatros III and was unable to.

I should have rephrased my title, LOL! I know what type A/C they were just not 'whom' the pilots were.   :salute:
