Hi all,

I am having an issue with BOS that I have now had across two OS's, Win 7 and now Win 10 after a recent upgrade

My problem is this: Sometimes when I go to fire my guns at an enemy aircraft (always seems to be aircraft) I get lined up for the shot pull the trigger.. nothing !  It can happen whether I am firing my main armament, secondary, or both together.

It sorta feels like input lag as I look into the cockpit and can see none of the trigger controls animating and is unpredictable when it will happen and is pretty damn annoying as lining up for that deflection shot and... nothing.

I have looked in the key mapping to see if I have any conflicts and there doesn't appear to be any and I play with default keys.

I have a CH Hotas setup and this problem occurs whether I am using a software map via the CH control manager or I just map straight from the buttons without using the CH sofware.

My setup is not new but not that slow I think.  I5 4590, GTX 970, 16Gb ram.  I am using Track IR 3pro with Vector expansion.

I run the game in various levels of detail and in SP I never go below mid 30 and am normally in the 50-60 fps.

At all levels of detail the issue occurs.

Any ideas anyone ?

If you fire with keyboard keys this lag happen?

Hi mate...  I have just re-installed my OS for a clean WIn 10 install and will get back to you.  Interestingly I am trying to re-activate my Track IR and all the Natural point web addresses don't seem to work..  will get back though.

Is this common problem btw ?

If you fire with keyboard keys this lag happen?

Hi there, It would appear that the keyboard commands are working ok.  I just tried a four on four in qm and the trigger on my j/stick was hardly working at all but the keyboard commands did ?

Ha,, excellent,, I have found the problem.

And this thread helped me find it although not in the way intended.

The lack of response or ideas sorta made me think that it was not common and is probably me somehow.

Sokols question got me thinking even more.

The only thing I have had consistent over 2 OS's was my map,,, yep..

I had inadvertently assigned load all guns to my shift button (which should only do just that, act as a shift).  The button is the pinky one on the CH Fighterstick if anyone knows it.

What I was doing in complete nub target fixation death grip was to grip this button at the same time as firing the main trigger, result,, nyet..lol..  What confused me was that it was not happening all the time..

Brilliant.

I deserve the public humiliation for that one  :)

Thanks to you two who answered

Yes, I already noticed like you a constant and excessive lag between physicaly pulling the trigger and the gunfire in BoS/BoM (that lag doesn't exist in other sims on my config). I feel that is simply due to the game engine, and maybe that will be fixed in the Dx11 iteration...

Not really Jade Monkey, we were speaking of two different problems, although the 2 are taged "lag input" - his problem is now solved... I was talking about the lag input, ie the delay between physically pulling the trigger (or any control) and the beginning of the action in the game - for example the Forza series is terrible at this point, more than 30-40ms of delay... but in BOS, that's acceptable...(but perfectible for a better feeling...maybe the new DX11 game engine will correct this?)
