II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) Hey Pat, I've seen your interactions with the community over the last couple of weeks and I just want to say "thanks." What you have done for this sim is just simply outstanding. I don't play SP and have to admit I have not fired up PWCG but the sheer joy your efforts have brought and the interaction with YOUR community is fantastic. I know you were very hesitant to take on BoX to put it lightly. I imagine it took a couple of shots of a fine brown liquour with Jason at a nice pub and probably a really expensive bottle of wine for the take home but you really transformed the game for a huge part of our community. In doing so you have also transformed the community itself to a large extent. I've seen your comments on various threads and you are pretty humble about topics you have limited knowledge of. That speaks volumes about character as does the amount of work you took/take on. And your interactions with members is always very respectful. Although, as I said, I have yet to fire up your mod but I want you to know it is highly appreciated from all points. Thanks man, Murf Edited October 7, 2016 by II/JG17_HerrMurf 17
74_jim_nihilist Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Totally agree. I think I would have given up on BOS/BOM if not for Patricks Campaign Generator. It offered choice when there was none. It was either MP or an SP Arcade Campaign, neither suits my taste. It was really frustrating, because the flightsim per se is really great. Can't thank him enough for his effort.
PatrickAWlson Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Thanks. It's appreciated. It took a little prying to get me into WWII but I enjoy it. Merging BoS and RoF t was also an awesome exercise in geekery (abstractions, interfaces, factories ... pretty much every Java development pattern put to use). Maybe one day I will even learn to fly the planes . If this work has a positive influence on future development then even better. 13
Dakpilot Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 You deserve a holiday, at least if only to get experience with the aircraft and get some enjoyment out of all your hard work, and BoS/BoM/BoX/RoF Respect Cheers Dakpilot
LLv24_Zami Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Pat has done a great service for the community and deserves our gratitude. Thanks again for your work
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I concur, Patrick did a great work !
pilotpierre Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 As one of the first users of PWCG in RoF I also once again applaud your efforts and are extremely glad you swung into BoS. Bravo Zulu oh Great One. 1
sinned Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I often fly pwcg. Great campaign for sp. One question, if i destroyed an aaa in one mission, is there a way that following missions carry the damages done from prev missions?
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Appreciate your work Pat. Many thanks!
BMW801 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 As a primarily single player guy, Pat has totally transformed this simulator for me. Thank you for your outstanding work and for all the hours of enjoyment your work has provided me.
Tompa_73 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Yes I agree, I tried it for the first time yesterday and it gives a whole new dimension to the sim. I also decided to donate some money because....well...excellent work!
TheSNAFU Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 PWCG is the primary reason why I'm playing BOS. A SP for the most part, a dynamic and immersive campaign is a necessity. Pat has brought that to the game. Many thanks Pat!
Danziger Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I'm sure he'd be better than this year's choices lol. 2
Cybermat47 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 (edited) If you don't have PWCG yet, you should get it right now for IL-2 and RoF (the in-built RoF career mode is really good at some things, PWCG is really good with other things - they both complement each other in my opinion). I'm having a great career at the moment in PWCG RoF, with some great moments, like watching as my wingman's Roland C.II is shot down by a mass of Russian fighters, strafing French troops at Verdun in a DFW C.V, watching in horror as my wingman, Leutnant von Richthofen, flies his Albatros D.II too close to balloon defences (thankfully he survived - he hasn't even started flying red planes yet!) and helping a new pilot score his first victory - which also resulted in all but one of my interplane struts being shot in half! Scarecrow Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 +1 Pat you deserve a pint from every soul that DL'd the PWCG. I decided I'd rep the OP instead as that seemed a more appropriate thank you
