Will the performance boost help to increase number of players on one map?

Will the performance boost help to increase number of players on one map?

i'd rather hope they use it for an increase of draw distance

The single "global" feature, where this Sim is clearly behind the others

Thanks for the frequent updates! I'm really looking forward to BOK and you guys are keeping the stoke level up. :salute:

Fingers crossed for (eventually) a bonus Crimea map... :)

I think that would be Graphics performance, probably not the Dserver.

FANTASTIC news! The development team has to be proud of the work being done for all lovers of dogfights of WWII  :good:

I can not wait to try my new Gladiator with these performance improvements.

I think a lot of the performance you get from dx11 actually comes from better CPU utilization. Better use of threads and cores can mean a lot more instructions per cycle on the server, if any of the operations there uses dx. Physics maybe? This is a bit of a grey zone for me, so please correct if I'm wrong in assuming.

I think that would be Graphics performance, probably not the Dserver.

It would be more dserver and netcode efficiency. Graphics aren't the issue unless you expect all 84 to be within visual range, which would be a pretty awful furball due to the warping and slow fps. The issue is the amount of data being transmitted and keeping everything in sync.

Even in games that support hundreds/a thousand online on one server (like online only WWII game/sims), a furball of over 30 planes is a mess.

Awesome, it's going to rock!

Great work, I have to say that I am very excited to read everything that is published today in the dev diary

DD says that there will be changes to the mission system in 2.004. I assume it means campaign missions. That`s interesting, maybe we are getting upgraded mission generator already in 2.004. Now I`m really waiting for that patch to see what it means

No that means changes to mission code and how they work.

Would be wonderful if we get an updated dserver towards the end of the year. Sorry for bringing it up again, ofcourse understand we are already seeing the huge number of improvements and even if it happens in 2017 will be nice.( 2 threads versus 1). Edited by Smok

I have to agree with some of the previous posts, this developement team would be withour a doubt the best I have ever come across, for both meeting deadlines and communications.

I spent many hours over Kuban in the original and look forward to spending many more soon in a much better Sim and map.

Exciting news!  Looking forward to seeing all these improvements - quite an ambitious schedule.

Really hope that at some point the DX11 introduction or maybe other aspects will make it possible to finally fix the "bubble of blur" issue so ground-pounders like me can enjoy flying low and looking around for targets to hit.

totally awesome.

I must say that it seems 1C is finally trying very hard to figure out what will bring in more paying customers and get more people to use their Sim in SP and MP. Just the new landing gear physics and actually being able to do a 2 point landing has me waiting to update to 2.004 and try it.  I haven't flown BOS but maybe 3 or 4 times in the last 2 years, but if a lot of the new changes retro back to BOS and DirectX 11 helps the performance enough, this may be reason enough for me to get into it and reap some return on investment. BOS has always been a beautiful Sim to me and now if the meat of it gets fleshed out like it should be, it should be worth investing the time for me to use it and possibly move into BOM and BOK. Good Luck to 1C, here is to hoping you can make it happen :excl::good:

I've barely flown BoS since get-go just due to a lack of time but I've decided to get flying again with 2.004. DX11 coming so soon is just epic.

By the way, does being DX11 automatically mean that VR will work or does it still require internal development?

Good news! I hope that DX11 and the mission code changes would have a positive impact on the dserver performance.

Dx11 so soon! Outstanding Dev Diary once more! So many good things we can look forward to! :)

Great News!

Waiting for 2.004 and after this DX11 is hard already, but waiting for this beautiful new map with all it's cool new features is near agony.

Imagine heading out to the sea in the early daylight, drop a torpedo on a ship, evade the defensive flak barrage, heading back in direction of the mountains on wave-top height, passing the shoreline, slowly climbing and limping behind your flight with a damaged engine, hoping to maintain enough altitude to cross the mountains and reach your base in the steppe with the last drops of fuel from your bullet riddled tanks- this will be so awesome.

Thank you!

Great work dev's. Now I do hope that DX11 brings VR support early as well ;)

I'm probably being daft and it's already been explained but is the new career mode going to allow us to start a career character in one battle, say Moscow, and continue the same guy through BOS and BOK?  I hope so, anyway, that would be a lot of fun.

Thanks.  Can't wait to actually play this thing.

All I can say is that you are an example of Dedication and Professionalism!

All I can think is that I wish we had similar developers on the Civil Flightsims side...

All I can be happy about is not having spent my bucks in yet another add-on for my civil sim, and be able to contribute to your project through the acquisition of the 2 collection aircraft and Kuban pre-release :-)

Well said,

And dx11... with that, this sim will ROCK!! (not to mention the new carrer mode) : more player will come.

This baby is really surpassing my expectations.

Sincère congratulation,

And sincère thanks to turn dream into realities !

Yes they will - hello :-)

The answer is yes.

We truly are so very lucky to have such talented developers working on this sim  I really mean that, and appreciate this very, very much as a community member here.
Reading about the ground physics, like wow! I even remember thinking the same thing, once I discovered the wind effecting the rounds that were fired, during flight. ( must have missed reading about that bit in the past :b)
These may seem like small things, but it's something that adds to the broad world of emersion for me.
Now graphically, well this is just the cherry on top of the balance of everything, and I'm still very impressed. The textures even on the ground, and I've experienced these up close from inside a T-34. Talk about diversity from a different perspective!!  How cool is this!!
Like I understand this is a flight sim and all, so it's like leaving the driving of planes, and  the best part for last.
The clouds and smoke are the best I've experienced without a shadow of doubt to date also .
It really is like having a birthday treat reading the development progress from week to week. There is no rubbish, and this is consistently refreshing.
The biggest thankyou is for the smart discovery of optimising this sim in ways other developers may have easily over looked. Absolutely Brilliant!!!
