snoopy-joe Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) Hi Everyone I am having a major problem assigning my HOTAS to the AXIS My Specs Windows 8.1 64 BIT Processor: AMD FX tm 8350 Eight Core 16GB RAM (cannot remember what type) GTX 770 X55 HOTAS CH PRO Pedals Track IR 5 I have both BOS and BOM My problem is as follows When I go into settings to assign the AXIS the game only sees one direction eg For pitch it will recognise me pulling the stick back for pitch up, then it will ignore me pushing the stick forward I can push it forward over and over and I get no input I get exactly the same behaviour for roll on the joystick I also get the same problem with my X55 throttle, and also with my CH PRO pedals Basically for anything where I whoul want to assign an axis, the game only seems to recognise ONE direcion of that AXIS, and ignores the other I am hoping that somebody on this forum can help me solve this problem - because this game looks frikkin' awesome, and I am super keen to get involved PS - Yes I know I am a founder but have never posted, but I have never really played it I backed it because I love flight sims, and WW2 flight Sims in particular I was waiting for a good single player mode to be made With the latest DEV notes It encouraged me to buy BOM and think about ordering the KUBAN If this has the potential for a good SP I will back it to the hilt !!!! snoopy-joe Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) EDIT I have been looking at my devices for a while, and the only thing that has changed recently is that I have plugged in a fancy keyboard More information - a few days ago (when I was just running BOS, I hadn't bought BOM) my X55 and CH PRO and TrackIR setup worked just fine AT first I thought it was the fact that I had installed BOM that had FUBARED everything But now I am looking at my new keyboard Apart from installing BOM that is the only thing that has changed in the last few days I do not know what this "Unifying Keyboard" thing is doing Is it possible it is interfering with my TrackIR, Joystick or Throttle? I guess the next thing is for me to get a normal keyboard from somewhere and try it out Good hunting everyone Edited October 5, 2016 by snoopy-joe
Sokol1 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 You assure that you joystick is properly calibrated, testing in Windows Control Panel > Games Controllers (joy.cpl)? Just test, dont use Windows calibration - use you stick program calibration if need. IF are OK, in a give command, eg. roll click in the graphic icon in right side of the row and check deadzones, sensibility... deadzone can be in 50% or more. https://youtu.be/Y4rAMC9wV9E?t=169
snoopy-joe Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 Just to add - I use my X55 and CH PRO Pedals for DCS, and they both work fine I will take a look at that video tonight Sokol1, cheers
snoopy-joe Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 Fixed it - although I am not sure what I did that fixed it Will post the following in case it helps anyone else - although to be honest it is all just good housekeeping Made sure Windows was up to date ( i had disabled updates when they tried to push Windows 10 on me) As a result I had about 70 updates to do Updated my joystick, pedals, and graphics card drivers Ran Avast and AVG which both removed what they said were dodgy files Uninstaled BOS Did a registry clean Reinstalled BOS/BOM After all of this - my input devices work just fine Like I said already, the above is basic PC health awareness I should have tried all of this before I posted Anyway - BOS/BOM now works just fine with my joystick and pedal, I am well happy with this
