I could not get a single one of these missions to work after following the instructions in the readme.
mission description says "loading mission description"
you hit start and nothing happens. 
is there an update on them by chance?

Yes, same for me, for these specific missions Resaving is required:

 

I have tested only one mission, the first BF109E7 mission and for this mission resaving worked.
