Cant run the Game :'(

I can't seem to open the game today. the icon for il2 pops up in the taskbar buyt immediately stops responding.

 

ive verified steam chace thorugh steam, deleted and reinstalled the game completely, reverted my drivers, but nothing seems to work. it was working perfect yesterday (although i did notice some lesser performace

 

 

pleeease, TAW starts tomorrow and i dont have time to do a clean windows install....

 

on that last part.. where on my PC can i look up my cd key? i lost it but i really want to do a clean W7 install

Regarding the CD Key, if you have the steam version just right click on the game and "View Cd Key".

 

Otherwise you can see it in your account on il2sturmovik.com (not the forum).

 

 

 

For your PC, what changed recently?

 

not sure if it will help with IL2 but have you tried CCleaner? It cleans all the garbage from the PC and registry.

Sorry i meant my windows CD Key to make a clean install.

 

as fro my pc. nothing since i last played

 

i did download the Game from the site and it works but i really want the game running on steam since it counts my flight hours :/

Have you tried doing a system restore to before it stopped working?

i rolled everything back and still no joy. thanks for the info on retrieving my w7 key, ill just do a clean windows install one of these days and see if that fixes it :D

Does the Launcher come up for you? If so, before hitting 'Play', check to make sure that you've got a resolution selected in the launch settings first.

 

Like you, I have been messing with DSR, settings etc. and somehow it lost my desired resolution setting,..got an error/crash when I hit Play. Once I selected 1920x1080 again the problem was resolved.

 

 

Noo, its not the desired resolution (i keep them all checked to avoid this). the game doesnt start at all, just the icon popos up in the taskbar in a "stopped  responding" fashion :/

A stupid suggestion but just to make sure, you've tried launching it straight from il2.exe, yeah? And/or using Launch as Administrator or however it's called?

You can search for problems in your windows with this:

You should aslo make a deep scan with your antivirus.
