The P-39L-1 and A-20B will come in 2017. Though not American, the Spitfire will be there too. After that, there will be 'Battle of Midway' and 'Battle of Okinawa', where you will get loads of American aircraft.

That's where they want to go with it as well, the so-called 'spirit of '46'. Little by little we'll get there. By the end of 2017 we will have at least 32 aircraft and at least five full-scale maps (Moscow, Stalingrad, Kuban, Velikiye Luki, Odessa).

It'd be a dream to have all these aircraft in-game. Especially the B-14 and P-47, I hope they get there one day.

Obviously my friend, this is a wishlist of aircraft we would like to see eventually. Nothing wrong with wishful thinking.

I am new here so maybe my 2 cents isn't worth much. In all honesty I haven't bought BOS, I am not really into the Eastern Front war. I didn't buy IL-2 Sturmovik until the Aces Expension Pack came out.

From my experience if you want to get more people especiaally (the American Market) into your flight simulation game, then you should plan on putting in American Aircraft like 1C did with IL-2 Sturmovik with the Aces Expension Pack, then with Pacific Fighters.

My suggest would be this, don't do a Pacific Theatre (PTO),  instead start out with the European Theater (ETO), The 8th USAAF Strategic and Tatical Bombers Air Campigans into France and then into Germany.

Planes will be from that time period, make the B-17F, B-17G, B-24D and B-24J, B-26 Flayable amd the Lancastor. Start the ETO  like from August 1942 to December 1943. Then go from 1944 to 1945, with the right plane sets.

I can help on the the Bases in England where the Bomber Groups and Fighter Groups were based at and the Targets being bombed, the dates and tpye of targets.

So any developers out there that likes this ideal let me and I can send you a vast amount of informations on the ETO and the USAAF bases in England.

I would buy BOS and others if I knew for sure that my perchases would go towards this type of project.

No thanks... I'd rather have some true British types to fly.

We already have a MkV Spit coming, but the Hawker Hurricane, Typhoon, Tempest etc are all iconic British aircraft, as are the Mosquito, Beaufighter, Blenhiem and Beaufort.

At sea we have Seafires and Sea Hurricanes, Sunderlands, Swordfish, and not forgetting the Walrus  

 

Well, I can dream I suppose... lol!

 

To be honest, I guess the OP will get his wish eventually as the dev team are pro Russian and US led, so there isn't much hope for us RAF types even in the long run.

Having said that, there is a cold hard realisation that has set in my head that the devs' cannot do all the theatres that many would want.

And also there are many flight simmers of my age that will probably have died before the dev team even get round to doing a theatre for UK/RAF flyers.

 

(Please do not mention CloD or DCS, I already own both of these games... My preference is still for the feeling of flight in BoS and it's graphics engine)

It doesn't have to be 100% accurate. I had plenty of fun in 1946 doing bomb missions in my b-17, even though there were only around 12-15 bombers in the formation.

 

The maps are plenty big for bomber missions, place the bomber airfields at the very edges of the maps and make them fly all the way to target. Sure it wont take hours but it will be much longer than anything else.

 

If you only want something if it's 100% accurate then you shouldn't even this game. 

 

All they need to do is make it accurate on a smaller scale.

 

 

All I ever see when someone mentions bombers is excuses on why it can't be done, but in reality it can be done, just not with 100 aircraft flying in formation to a target that is hours away.

 

This is a game first and foremost and there is room for doing things on a much smaller scale. It doesn't have to be full scale to be a good representation of what happened.
