Pepsi not bud light but same idea

Mmaruda - I get where you're coming from...but I think Blitz is right when it gets down to it. Also, there are a lot of guys like me who are hard core in theory, but real life interests and obligations mean that BoS strikes the right balance between quality of experience and time investment to learn.

I used to approach learning a new sim almost like taking a class. I'd study a chapter of the manual on my lunch break at work (talking Falcon 4.0, Flanker etc) and practice later that night. Learning every switch and knob on multiple WWII aircraft not to mention becoming a proficient user of each would far eclipse that time investment - something I just don't have the time resources for anymore.

BoS got it right.

To be perfectly honest, there's absolutely nothing that makes DCS, or any other flight sim with clickable cockpits anymore "hardcore" than BoS. Having to memorize where different switches and levers are in your virtual cockpit, is that really the most challenging aspect of a flight sim that you can possibly think of? If your answer is yes, then it's pretty obvious that you've either never actually played a flight sim, or you're just very bad at it.

Pepsi

Pepsi might be. But anything that has a Diet added to it is unacceptable ! It's almost like alcohol-free beer. A sin that cannot be redeemed.

Posted (edited)

Not to mention that with traditional artificial sweeteners in "diet" drinks it turns poison water into even more potent poison water.

Or TressFX. Game would benefit from this.

Maybe some engine sounds, inspried from Animal voices.

A more literal interpretation of kittyhawk maybe? I can picture it flying by...Meaooooow! X-D

What? I can't stand American piss water. It's the reason I never drank beer until I lived in Poland. Now I am back in America I have to settle for Heineken or Stella since nobody here has Tyskie, Warka, Zywiec, or Zubr (czekaja na polanie).

The craft beer scene is booming, but most of it is dark stuff like stouts and porters, or 9% ABV syrupy double IPAs... Maybe someday pale lagers will take off in the craft scene and I can stop drinking my beloved skunky Heineken. For the most part I make cocktails tho, gotta watch that waste line ;)

Well there is a grocery chain here in Texas called HEB that carries Hoffbrau and Spaten. Those are good as well.

A bit late but what the hell. My dream with IL2?

1. All major theatres covered (ETO, PTO, MTO, etc)

2. All major a/c including bombers (B17, B24)

not much to ask is it? :)

My thoughts exactly.

Major brands in the US are garbage but there is almost an endless supply of craft beers, there is a new microbrewery opening every other day in my area (although most of them seem to be obsessed with IPA which I hate).

Any lagers, or even weiss beer will do for me.

I don't know much about beer, but yeah all I hear is IPA this, IPA that.

1. Roomscale VR in bombers to walk around and man the different stations, use the hand controllers to flick switches and grab the guns etc. I'd love to see that in a B17, Catalina, etc

*edit* actually, make this roomscale VR to walk around the future carriers in IL2 Battle of Midway! *further edit* Do the landing guidance in VR on the carrier deck for other players using the hand controllers! I could go on all day like that in fact.

2. IL2  progress leading to Rise of Flight 2 in VR sometime in the next 5 years. I so wish this could be in the non-impossible dreams but it sure doesn't look that way at this stage...

Given the nonsense going down in RoF forums these days, I'd second this proposal. :)

FMs are worse in DCS, so hopefully this won't happen.

WW2 FMs are correct in DCS, and they are named "beta" as long as they are not finished - in contrary to BoX

The only "hardcore" people BoS could hope to appeal to are those who actually do WW2 stuff in other flight sims. Of those you mentioned, that'd be DCS. The rough ten or so DCS players you're lucky to find on a WW2 server at any one time, yeah, they'll probably turn BoS into a smashing bestseller rivaling GTA V!

To be perfectly honest, there's absolutely nothing that makes DCS, or any other flight sim with clickable cockpits anymore "hardcore" than BoS. A player who can effectively employ both bombs (properly, not the common "I'll just drop the bomb when I'm 5 feet above the target, can't miss then" method) and rockets from an Il-2 against AFVs and trucks he spotted, or can fly a fighter as part of a cooperating group, navigating, doing fighter sweeps, escorting attack planes and bombers, etc. vs someone who can start his K4 in DCS and shoot down a massively under-powered P-51D? I think I know whom I'd call hardcore...

I think you are right regarding WW2 moduls in DCS. However i'd definitely call the A10-C or the Ka-50 more "hardcore" then any BoS aircraft..but that's another story, since they are no competitors

Il-2 dream: Carriers... yay for me! My dream is coming... Second dream- float planes, I loved the A6M2-N floating Zero in old Il-2... Third- B-17s and 24s over Europe. But I am so happy about the carriers.

Beer dream: Erdinger Weissbier. Was my fav during my brief time in Germany. I'm in Richmond, VA, however, and can't find a distributor that brings it south of Fredericksburg. So I try to pick some up whenever I'm in DC for work. I even have a pair of glasses to get that perfect pour.

My response was in the assumption that humour was involved. ;)

However, you're right I haven't visited the ROF forums, so I guess I missed the specifics of the joke. Maybe someone will enlighten me ... :)

A bigger community

Yes, and that can be possible maybe with my Dream?

Yes, and that can be maybe with my Dream?

1-Package of planes, even more collector planes and you can buy by 2 or 4 or 6 package,  selected by class or faction.

This is a very particular thing, almost all in this community is defined by a side, so must of us want to buy almost anything from any country but nothing from the other side, if you understand my point. So:

More russian, USA, british, Jap, German variety planes.

-La5FN
-La7
-Yak9B, T, U, UT
-Yak3

-P47, 38

Some 4 engine bombers, yes also the Pe8

I was expecting La5FN in scenario Kuban 1943, well they did Kuban, i was predicting that but, mm a half happy for the plane,

So i expect also the best of all parts at the end of the war the cream of both sides.

Realistically: Baltic sea operations, torpedo bombers, depth charges. And a Bf 109 G-6.

Dream: As a theater I always found the late Eastern front battles Interesting, (East Prussia, Kurland, Oder) I know the air battles were not that large in scale, but the aircraft involved are fascinating. I would love to see them in the game some day.

Maybe one day bringing that early LaGG-3 and Il-4 models from the old abandoned BoM into the current game?

Ok, I'll up the ante then: Flying the Stork in a native linux client. ;)
