i just gained a few more FPS. try this

I play another game called squad and someone mentioned he gained a few more FPS by doing this and it worked for me with il2 also.

right click on steam in the task bar, go to settings, click on IN GAME and untick  Enable Steam overlay while in game and click on ok.

I struggled a bit with good frames while flying low and taxiing (especially the moscow map)  and now it seems pretty good.

  intel i5

  radeon r9  270.

Seemed to work nicely for me even though id thought id turned the damn overlay off already (clearly hadnt) - nice - Thank you!
