=WH=PangolinWranglin Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I am using the Nvidia plugin to save skins as DDS files but I cannot save them with alpha channels. It gives me a "Problem with file format module interface" error. I am using the free version of CS2 that adobe has on their site. Has anyone else had this issue?
Zargos Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Hello Spaceman, It may depend on the version of Photoshop you use (32 or 64 bits). I had the same kind of problem as you with the 32bits version on the other end the plugin works perfectly with the 64bits version. Hope it can help you.
Jade_Monkey Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 If you cant solve it with CS2 try GIMP. Its free and works well.
Feathered_IV Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I've got the same version of Photoshop. I find I have to flatten the psd template before successfully saving as a DDS.

When the Nvidia promt comes up, what did you chose from the list? Was it DXT5? I keep trying this but it keeps making my skins black and white.
=WH=PangolinWranglin Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha, will give excellent results with minimal artifacts. If you get the error message I posted above, then uncheck the alpha. 8.8.8.8 ARGB 32 bpp | unsigned, is a much higher quality conversion, but I haven't tried it for skins yet. Oh thank you so much! I can finally skin well! WOOHOO!
