HeavyCavalrySgt Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I've never been in a 109, but I had thought it was a pretty tight cockpit. I am trying to imagine the sort of head and body shape a pilot would need to get a view like this. Perhaps we are all focused, non-terminal repeating phantasms, or class 5 full roaming vapors (to mix movies).
Fifi Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 We'll have to wait for some cool guys (as Echo did in ROF views, and PeterP in DCS views for instance) to get accurate seat view position and field of view IMO.
Finkeren Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Well it's a tradeoff. The human eyes are able to see in a much broader FOV than can practically be displayed on a single monitor, which is why many simmers use multiple screens. For the rest of us, exagerated head movement is the closest we get to having the same FOV as would a real pilot, even if it sometimes results in head movements normally reserved for owls and demon possessed preteens. 2
