 You shoud know how strong is russian wood. 

No doupt they build his boat propellers with this material. Probably they used klimov 105 on his boats too. They never overheats and are  capable to moove the propeller trow the ground and stones.

On the XIII century some asteroids fall in to russian forest. That asteroids carried an extremely strong alien element. This element makes fusion with organic material from the trees and buid a new race of trees with an extreme strong wood used in in industrial purposes. 

So... maybe is only a feeling and you dont have enought evidence to know if russian boats can or can not run on the ground. Most of the comunity has the same feeling but they are all wrong.
