BM357_TinMan Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) Does this work and I'm just doing something wrong, or is it something that hasn't been worked out yet?I try to turn the radiator manual/auto using the Rsft R like the key mapping says but when I try to use the assigned keys RCTL =/-, nothing happens. *edit: Doesn't appear that the manual prop control works either Edited September 25, 2016 by TynMahn
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 (edited) its already manual, if your not getting this the command is rshft+p for rpm or prop and to see the water look out your cockpit left and right you will see poles all the way up is closed, all the way down is open, if not seeing ichat or information chat, check to make sure you have "i" pressed and 'h" for in-game huds. BM357_TinMan Posted September 29, 2016 Author Posted September 29, 2016 Yeah, it's not working.I understand and already use all that you mentioned in your reply. As far as manual prop is concerned, the iChat displays saying it is off and on when I toggle it. The problem with manual prop is, only one works (I don't remember which it is and I am not home so I can't check it out). Either the increase prop (RSHT =) works and decrease prop (RSHT -) doesn't (or the other way around). For the manual radiator, when I try to toggle it (RCTL R or RSHT whatever it is; again, I'm not at home and can't verify the correct keys) the iChat says NOTHING. Then when I try to manually move the radiator using the assigned keys, NOTHING HAPPENS.I guess my question is, does anybody else have this problem; is it a known issue and, if it is, is there a work around? Or, is this something specific to me and I need to figure out why it is happening?I just thought of something while typing this. I am going to try to move the key assignments and see if maybe, for some reason, the game doesn't recognize my keyboards "-/=" keys.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Are you in normal or expert difficulty? In normal there is more buttons to enable manual control. Can't remember them off the top of my head though, but this has caught a few out in the past.
BM357_TinMan Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 I'm in "Custom" where none of the "helps" are enabled. So, I checked it out; and I was right. For some reason, the game sees my keyboard command "=" as "prev_track" so, I reassigned them and now they both (water radiator and prop pitch) work. And, evidently, there is NO auto radiator for the "E". I guess that's what you meant but I didn't catch that.

With BF109G: Oil radiator, water radiator, mixture, propeller pitch don't work. Also the pitch trim doesn't work. Edited November 3, 2016 by zanzark
Matt Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Water radiator is automatic by default. You can switch it to manual if you need to by hitting "right_shift+R" and then control the radiator with "right_ctrl+equals/minus". Prop pitch it also automatic by default. You can switch to manual with "right_shift+P" and then adjust with "right_shift+equals/minus". Oil radiator and mixture is automatic only. It doesn't have pitch trim, but an adjustable stabilizer. Control is "right_shift+cursor up/down" by default
