SYN_Repent Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 then theres my problem, mine shows as 4 axis blah blah blah
kissklas Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 This is translated from the Norwegian interface but it should resemble the names you have. Here goes. Try selecting it in the Device Manager and going into properties -> Update driver -> search computer for driver -> let me pick from a list -> HID compliant game controller. Check that the driver version you have now is: 10.0.14393.82 dated 21.06.2006 from Microsoft
JG5_Schuck Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Mine shows the same Stick-95. kisslas, my driver version for the stick is 6.1.7601.18199 dated 21.06.2006
Giglio Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I had similar problems with my MSFF2, repaired cleaning the potentiometers with WD40. They are shielded, but there is a hole where it is possible to inject the WD40.
kissklas Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Mine shows the same Stick-95. kisslas, my driver version for the stick is 6.1.7601.18199 dated 21.06.2006 Hmm I would have thought that would be the same. OS related mayhaps? I'm on Win10. What about you?
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Here's my driver info: Date: 6/21/2006 Version: 10.0.14393.82 Using Windows 10 Home 64bit

Sokol1 Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) then theres my problem, mine shows as 4 axis blah blah blah Using USBDVIEW tool you can Uninstall the actual drivers, unplug the stick, power OFF and turn ON the computer, plug the stick and see if Windows install correctly - assuming that installed Windows is updated. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html Can try too - with help of ones with stick correct installed - get the HID drivers used in their installs through one these driver backup tools: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html http://www.drivermax.com/download.htm Edited September 28, 2016 by Sokol1
SYN_Repent Posted September 29, 2016 Author Posted September 29, 2016 (edited) Heres a screenshot of USBdeview, first of all i had the msffb2 in a usb 3.0 port, and USBdeview recognised it as a usb game controller only, then i uninstalled the game controller, changed it to a usb 2.0 port and it now sees the msffb2 as a sidewinder 2 force feedback.............so, i thought we might be getting somewhere, but alas, in the window i have mentioned in previous posts it is still seen as a 4 axis 8 button with hat. I really do appreciate the help your offering guys. Edited September 29, 2016 by SYN_Repent
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Must be a USB 2.0 from what I understand.
Extreme_One Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 (edited) Heres a screenshot of USBdeview, first of all i had the msffb2 in a usb 3.0 port, and USBdeview recognised it as a usb game controller only, then i uninstalled the game controller, changed it to a usb 2.0 port and it now sees the msffb2 as a sidewinder 2 force feedback.............so, i thought we might be getting somewhere, but alas, in the window i have mentioned in previous posts it is still seen as a 4 axis 8 button with hat. I really do appreciate the help your offering guys. You may have already tried this but worth a try anyway: From the second window click on Advanced. Then Choose Uninstall Driver. Discontent the stick. Reboot Windows Reconnect the stick (in a different USB port to one you've used previously) Cross fingers - hopefully Windows will install the correct driver Must be a USB 2.0 from what I understand. It really doesn't matter, USB 3.0 is backwardly compatible. I plug my MSFFB2 into a USB 3.0 port with no trouble. Edited September 29, 2016 by Extreme_One
Dakpilot Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 It really doesn't matter, USB 3.0 is backwardly compatible. I plug my MSFFB2 into a USB 3.0 port with no trouble. I feel there maybe many different types of USB 3.0 found in various spec computers and USB controller/drivers and although meant to be backwards compatible USB 3 has had many well documented issues A lot of people have solved issues with MSFFB2 by changing to USB 2 and or powered USB2 hub, in your situation USB 3 may work but this is not always the case Cheers Dakpilot 1
SYN_Repent Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 hi quax....i think i may have found a fix....it seems to work for me anyway, the stick doesnt push right on its own anymore.... go to program files>il2>data>input>joys open with notepad find the lines "microsoft" and "sidewinder" copy and paste this over those lines 4 axis 8 button joystick with hat switch perhaps save your old file somewhere just in case...let me know if it works
