What if Battle of Kuban + 2 New Collector planes

Recommended Posts

Just an Idea I had .What if 2 new planes would eventually be created to be sold separately . I'm going to order battle of Kuban anyway but what if Just like the yak 1b and Ju52 were created somewhat separate of BOS and BOM maybe a yak-9 and a bf109g6  would be created after the release to be sold separately. I've read on Wikipedia that battle of Kuban took place between 1jan and 9 October 1943(I'm not very familiar with this battle) and these panes seem more like 1943 than yak7 and 109g4 In my humble opinion.I'm sure many will have a different opinion and I accept that.

-This is just a topic for discussion .I'm not trying to impose anything on anybody .

Here we go with the G6 again.

There likely will be collector planes - just likely not a G6 - but possible...don't count on it.

i would pay for the La5F ot FN and buy the G6 just to support the devs :D

The G6 and -5F are likely to be collectors planes between Kuban and Midway. The G6 was not available during the timeframe the Dev's have chosen for Kuban. It was simply not in the theatre yet, while the G4 was.

IF, IF, IF, IF they have time. If they don't have the time or resources to spare then it will not. Frankly, I see them down the road but it will not be at release and it probably won't be soon. I'd put ten bucks on that bet.

It has already been pondered in Jason's TS Q&A.

There was no mention, however, of the Yak 9 and I would expect it to be an aircraft for a late war scenario along with the G10, K4 and Dora. I can see the -5FN and Yak 9 in an EF late war scenario. If there is a BoBerlin offering it would work along with some late war Western AC as well.

Against the G10, K4 and Dora the Soviet chosen planes would be Yak-3 and La-7 I guess.

Yak-9 (with T variant as mod? would require extra 3D and flight model) would pair with La-5FN for a lateish scenario with the 109 G14 and Fw-190 A8/9 I would say.

La5F could fit for Kuban, not the FN

I just want a better La5, one with view out the back. I don't care if it is an F or FN, JUST GIMME A BETTER LAVOCHKIN.

I'd say there's a much more compelling argument for another La5 than there is for yet another 109.

I'd rather see float planes for both sides though, or some other interesting aircraft that isn't necessarily a fighter.

Yeah the La5F clearly makes a lot of sense, as do the Bf 109G6, but there are other options, which might benefit gameplay even more.

Personally, I'm hoping for a flyable Po-2, and if the Ju 52 tuens out to be a big seller, I can't see, why it wouldn't be possible, it was after all one of the most used aircraft of the VVS.

Then there is the IAR-80/81. A very unique fighter, which fits very nicely with the rest of the plane set.

I can also see a chance for some easy-to-make early versions of some of the planes we already have to use in BoM: Early Yak-1's, LaGG-3s and Ju 87s would all fit very nicely. Or maybe an SU-2 or a Hurricane? (A man can dream)

On the other hand, I don't see much chance for an early Yak-9. It will be virtually indistinguishable from the from the Yak-1B in both performance and looks, even less difference than between the 109 G2 and G4. If, at some point, the series returns to the Eastern Front, we might see a later Yak-9 (D, T, M or U) however.

Yeah a package of earlier versions of existing aircraft would be nice, and since they would be modifications of the exiting 3D models and/or tunes of the FMs they could be at a lower price.

There is a bit of difference between the Yak-1B and the Yak-9, panels in the side fuselage, different intakes at the wing roots, and most noticeable the radiator:

I know that. I was refering mainly to their performance and armament, which are pretty much identical.

The only real difference I can think of is a possible difference in cooling performance due to the different radiators.

La-5 F would really be a must if we have collectors plane. It will be something really new.

As for the G6 it would be great, but not adding much to the game .... A more exotic plane like the IAR81 would add more variety.

I get it , G6 is a iconic plane, yak also, what about us who do not like those planes. Why should BOS be a copy of old IL 2 with countless versions of 109 and opposite fighter. Why should dogfight addicts always dictate the plane set.

The G6 will come, I am sure of it. why this constant creation of new topics about this matter? why not just post in one of the other. Personally I just do not get it, when BOS came out people would jump right into jet age

With the "air marshal" feature and new carreer mode being announced, i would rather have Fw 189 and Po-2 than yet another 109 or La-5/Yak to be honest.

Some doubts about Po-2 sincerly but FW-189 and Arado 196 could sold well i think.

We need more DLC, this for sure.

100% agree about scouts, transports, seaplanes ecc. ecc. but we need more deep in the online (war) games.

In the teamspeak deal with Jason he said that they already had 2 planes in mind for a collector release in between Kuban and Pacific if they had time. He said that both of these planes were very relevant to the battle and time frame that they were working with, but the G-6 was not one of them. He was very open to doing G-6, but it sounded like time and budget were rigid, and they really wanted to do these two mystery planes (he wasn't about to let the cat out of the bag). Just hope that the sales are phenomenal and they have the resources to do everything that they want to.

A little off original statement, but It might be a lot more lucrative if they started to allow airplane melting and in melting, buybacks, and upgrades from one airframe to another....my head APIs thinking bout it

That wouldn't do anything for them, just cost them money. These are not $150 aircraft.

Agreed. Also someone was asking in the ask Devs thread regarding the issue of collectors planes showing up in base packs down the track. I have no issue with this as you probably would have had earlier access to the plane for a considerable amount of time before it is required in a "Battle of" pack.

The wing shapes are also quite different. And this to me make the Yak9 so beautiful!:
