BraveSirRobin Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 It could be programmed so that the AI to favor attacking enemies who exhibit certain behaviors over other enemies, and those might just so happen to single out a human player... The AI gives priority to flight leaders and high threat aircraft. In many cases, that is the human player. You can solve this problem by flying passively until the enemy AI is fixated on more aggressive friendly AI. In any case, at no time is the AI aware of who the human player it. 1
Feathered_IV Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Nice to hear that Han confirmed the problem and plans to correct it. "EDIT: AI ganging on player confirmen in my own test. F... too often I got to re-check things by myself To be fixed in 2.008. Thank you for rising this issue again" 2

PatrickAWlson Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 That is the single biggest complaint in SP play. Nice that it is being addressed.
Bando Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I'm one happy camper now. It means I will start flying again. I kinda gave up on it...... I hope Patrick will continue to develop this as well and all will be flightsim heaven again.
Ace_Pilto Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Han's going to get his Zweihander and chase the AI around the game engine until they behave.
Bando Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Even as AI, I wouldn't want to meet Han when he's angry and got that brutal piece of metal in his hands... Whatever the outcome, AI ganging up is finally confirmed by the people that needed to confirm it and it's being addressed, so all is good again.

oho Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Does this still show up in the PWCG missions? I think in stock campaign missions it is much less frequent, but maybe it is because I'm only a wingman in PWCG missions and a flight leader in the stock campaign? What do you do to avoid it? Are there advanced Settings that can avoid it? Did you think about changing attack-comand to attack-area comand in Mission design, as posted some Posts before? Maybe that helps?
PatrickAWlson Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 This has always been an AI issue that PWCG does influence. My understanding is that this was addressed by 1C and is no less frequent in both stock and PWCG.
Yogiflight Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 This has always been an AI issue that PWCG does influence. My understanding is that this was addressed by 1C and is no less frequent in both stock and PWCG. This is my observation, too. There is no AI ganging anymore. What, of course, happens, is, that enemy fighters are your personally enemy. They will only fight you no matter what is going on around them, in PWCG and the stock campaign, and no friendly AI will attack them. This is the way AI works. But now there are one or two fighters, not the complete squadron, who is behind you. When you have all enemy fighters behind you, it is a clear sign, that you are the last one of your squad. Unfortunately, this happens sometimes very fast. On the other side, I also experience it quite often, that, no matter what I do, enemy AI does not take any notice of me. They sometimes pass me in less than fifty meters, to attack the aircrafts flying in front of me. 1
