Nice pictures. Interesting to see that the naming of the soviet aircraft changed during the war. Was that intentional?

To be fair several of them did change designation during the war, going from design bureau internal designation or official TsAGI prototype/project designations to official VVS service-designations, for example the I-26 to Yak-1, or I-301 to LaGG-3

Yep. For example, this is the document, wich officially renames LaGG-5 into La-5.

Ohhh! And the TB-7 to Pe-8! Nice! Several sweet pictures here to add to my personal archive! Interesting with the change from LaGG-5 directly to La-5 though. I thought LaGG-5 was only the initial name for the project, LaG-5 the actual first service designation, and then that that name got changed to La-5.
