The Air Marshal

1.I would like to see a mission on multi player mode where a JU52 crew could lift the fog of war by relaying information to the Air Marshal.

When radio communication is established that would reveal how many planes or tanks or AAA to the Air Marshal.  Air Marshall could place icons on the teams maps when enemy flights are engaged or just seen(with vectors and such)  The JU52 crew could take pictures then airdrop them to the air marshal at a base and this would give exact map details to the Air Marshal who  could relay this info to the teams.  Maybe he could share the pictures with squad leaders and other pilots(Maybe just the bomber guys to give them advantage to know where AAA and convoys and trains and such are...exact coordinates of ships is very important for my 110).

2.Please give the air marshal control of the AAA locations around friendly airfields.  I would also like to have control of the AA guns at some point, maybe controlled by the Ground Marshal in the future.(seems like something to add to the carrier based PTO game to come).  That leads me to believe the air marshal could become a good way for tanks and air forces to coordinate attacks.( with JU52 flying high above reporting details to the marshal).  Brings to mind one of the final FNBF missions where the tanks were fighting in the town with the IL2s looking for us below...Imagine getting an exact vector from the JU52(or PE2 for now) flyover and air marshal combo.

3.Have seen many guys around the forum who are hurt and cannot fly for certain times.  Good way to keep playing as the air marshal while you heal.  For those not so lucky but still love WW2 or flight in general may get a thrill coordinating the forces even if they suffer from a physical problem that makes flying to hard but moving a mouse easy enough.  Many people with handicaps love to game and I think this would be a cool option for a WW2 fan.

Not sure if any of this could be done.  What would you guys like to see this new game feature become?

EDIT: what if air marshal could do his duties from the gunner seat of a bomber and could die like the rest of us too.  Hell just put him in a JU52 with an escort of course.

I think the Air Marshall has the potential to be a great feature for online wars and campaigns, depending on how they implement it.

There was an online war for 1946 called Forgotten Skies and on the Axis side we had a JG27 guy named Sith who would take on a Forward Air Controller role (they called it OpsO).  Basically you'd set up channel-to-channel whispers on Teamspeak and ask him for things like bogey dopes, report things like enemy contact and targets encountered, etc.  Meanwhile he'd be flying supply runs.  Apparently in his basement where his PC was he had a gigantic laminated map of the mission and would use erasable felt-tip pens to track the progress of the different flights as well as note enemy positions when they got called out to him,

It was great because you'd end up getting vectored in behind some hostiles as they were trying to flee from another friendly flight and they'd end up getting sandwiched.

If the Air Marshall ended up as the type of airborne ATC role it'd be great.

All that sounds amazing.  I missed the boat on MP back then.

ah yes the Air Marshall. I'm very excited about this. Why can't they implement this now? It is sorely needed.

Essentially I reckon it should be a slot (ie. non-flyable) so you can jump out when you want. I reckon it should work like:

- if you do recon missions (or spot enemy vehicles/aircraft/trains/etc), there should be a MP radio button that just says 'transmit to HQ' however you need to hold it down for say 5-10 seconds (to replicate an actual radio report). The AM should then get a notification saying 'message received from sector AN15' or something. Once the message is received (ie. once you hold down the transmit for say 10 seconds) his map should update with enemy icons (or the fog of war lifts for that area whilst the recon a/c is there). This makes the recon report difficult. If the recon a/c gets shot down half way through transmitting, the AM should only get a message stating 'incomplete message received from sector AN15' then he has to decide whether to send a/c there.

- the AM can then transmit a message out to squadrons or everyone via the map screen ie. the map should update with enemy icons

this is such a welcome addition. so many times I've gone online and struggled to find anything.

I think the Il-2 Mission Planner by 19.GIAP//curiousGamblerr has potential to address at least some of the need before the Air Marshall comes out. There's currently beta test going on for a version, where you can stream your flight plans to other users. Check it out: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/21919-il-2-mission-planner-online-flight-planning-tool-il2missionp/?p=388352

Edit: requires of course, that people are in contact via TeamSpeak.
