TP_Jacko Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Thinking ahead to a time when custom maps are allowed i am interested in learning how to make them. I did start to learn in il2 1946 but i am sure its quite different now. Anyone know where to start and what is needed. I know its a long term project. 1
JimTM Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) Because the BoS mission editor (including map making I think) is based on the RoF editor, you could look at the RoF Map Making & Models forum for some information. I don't know what's changed for BoS terrain map making. Edited September 14, 2016 by JimTM
TP_Jacko Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 Thanks JimTM I was also wondering if the RoF folkstone map could be ported to bos as a way to stimulate the western front interest
LLv44_Kanttori Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 The Russian IL2 Sturmovik Forum has a special Maps -thread to the map makers. I hope that here should be similar, too, with a common instructions how to bring the elevation, water, roads/rails etc. files to this game. I mean thread to the old IL-2 1946 map makers who knows the basic methods with the maps. Now I have tried to find information from here and there (mostly from the ROF and Russian IL2 forums) but there are very little of it... Are here other old map makers from the IL-2 1946? Maybe we shoud try to find the solutions together! 1
