Managing mixed internal / external loadouts in He 111 and Ju 88

I'm finding it difficult to manage loadouts in the German bombers that contain a mix of internal and external bombs, since the bombsight can only select either one or the other to drop at one time. How do you manage to drop all of the bombs without having some of them drop way too late? Are these sorts of loadouts meant for really long / large targets that the bombardier would target sequentially?

in the Ju88 there is a problem if you want to drop everything and you have many bombs in each bomb bay - i usually take that bombload if i want to bomb more than one objective   but in the Heinkel you only need one extra "click" at the end to drop the external bomb .  The key for me is to first drop internal bombs and  select the time between the release ( 0.05, 0.1 , 0.25 , 0.5 ) according to how big the target area is  , this way you will make sure the external at the end won't drop into the woods .

When the game was released there was a drop all option but it was removed in a later patch , i guess it wasn't realistic .

Yeah, that's what I've been trying to do. Takes a bit of practice to get the timing right.

In the real aircraft you could drop both internal and external load in sequence, even if there was a considerable gap between internal and external ones. Internal 250kg ones were at 1-4 position of the RAB, internal 50kg at 1-16, with the external one at 23 (or 23&24 if you had external only). So you would set the RAB to start at position 1 and end at position 23, it would drop the internal ones, and then do many or a couple of nothings before the fat one followed.

Alternatively you could arm all bombs, and then emergency release them all at once.
