Doesn't matter if it's a pilots own account or written by a historian but preferably about Luftwaffe fighter pilots on the Eastern Front.

Got the books from various pilots, from Bf109 thru Me110 to bombers in Eastern Front. Names like Kaufmann, Lipfert, Rall, Düttmann, Stahl, Wolfrum etc. All worth reading.

Recently I've read Norbert Hannig's "Luftwaffe Fighter Ace", which is worth reading if you are interested in the autobiography of a less well known Luftwaffe ace. Hannig was a pilot in JG54 and flew the Bf-109 and Fw-190. Later he joined JG7 which was equipped with the Me-262.

I have this one, along with the allied aces variant.

And one i also liked is "the blond knight of Germany" about Erich Hartmann.

The first book i read of a german pilot was from Heinz Knoke "i flew for the fuhrer", but this is western front if i remember well.

'Luftwaffe Eagle: From Me109 to Me262' which is Walter Schuck's autobiography. He spent most of his time flying 109's with JG5 up beyond the arctic circle.

I would also recommend Adolf Galland's book, "the first and the last".
