Mini-map images availability

Dear fellow pilots,

 

Does anyone know if I could find the tiles that are used in the game's mini-map? I noticed that several 3rd party utilities seem to have them.

Never mind, found the tiles on GitHub. However, I still wonder how someone acquired them.

I have the tiles on Github here, maybe it's the one you found: https://github.com/gavincabbage/tiles.il2missionplanner.com

 

That repo is for the tile service that supports il2missionplanner.com, so you can grab the tiles via HTTP in the form tiles.il2missionplanner.com/Z/X/Y.png, e.g. http://tiles.il2missionplanner.com/luki/2/2/0.png. Feel free to use that endpoint for any application you're putting together. It should always be available.

 

People have asked me for a single file of the entire map, so there is one available in the top level folder for each map (e.g. http://tiles.il2missionplanner.com/luki/luki.png)but they're very large images so I'm not sure how easy they'll be for you to download, or how useful they are.

 

I don't really remember how I acquired them in the first place but I'm happy to share
