Regarding keys purchased here and transferring them to Steam: 

 

 

This key swap program only applies to IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad keys purchased during the Early Access and Pre-Order periods prior to October 22, 2014. Also there must be no other IL2BOS licenses on your current Steam account. Qualifying user accounts will be provided the chance to do a Steam key trade and have their game progress transferred safely. After requesting and receiving a Steam key, your current IL-2 Sturmovik user account will be temporarily locked until you complete the activation process on Steam and then the IL-2:BOS website.

Switching to a Steam key must be initiated and requested by the user of his or her own accord following the prescribed procedure. 1CGS will not make the switch without a proper request. Once the request is made by pressing the GET STEAM KEY button, it is final. It cannot be reversed.

I'm not sure collector planes and the actual game modules are handled the same - but regardless I suspect there shall be no Wulf for me. Even so I commend your generosity, HerrMurf! You're an inspiration!

Now go give that key to someone who deserves it. The way I see it, it's another Fw in the skies either way

That is correct. All of your content is integrated in to the il2sturmovik.com account that you created when you first downloaded BOS through Steam and ran the game.

Naturally! I'm quite curious myself - if it works then I would prefer to buy from the web store in the future, to support the devs and community. If it doesn't, well, the key won't be consumed so I'll just send it back as per my previous post. 

... But I really hope it works!

My hot little hands are back from the front and I can confirm, with great joy, that the experiment was a success! Works like a charm, so one final time - Thank you most kindly.
Might I also say that the Wulf is a marvellous little bird, if somewhat temperamental. Seeing as how I am a ground-pounder at heart, I really appreciate the versatility it offers. I'll definitely be bringing it along for most fighter sorties now - and I can readily see flying Stuka escorts with a 250 or 500kg of my own, in case we get there unmolested.

Remember that centerline rack robs about 15k of your level speed even when unladen. This is an important point when confronting or running from the Soviet in unfriendly skies.

One Fw to Retriever

 

 

i am still struggling to find ways to activate the FW.  How can i see the activation?

Click on the Il2 Sturmovik banner at the top of this page. Log in to your account on the Main Page (not the forum page where we are now). Click on the License Key tab (Red at the right). Locate the Fw key from the list. Click Activate. Launch game and enjoy.

Wow, this plane handles / sounds very much diff from 109.  Engine sounds like a purring cat.  Very nice!

Sorry, I posted that while on my phone and can't type well on such a tiny keyboard.

 

What I mean by using patreon is that HerrMuft (or anyone else) could set up a Patreon account https://www.patreon.com/  Then other people can donate a small amount to support the effort, in my case I give $1.00 per month to 5-6 different people, mostly podcasters.  Patreon is like a subscription, so I give money through the web site every month.  In this case the Patreon money would go into a pool and once there was enough money to buy a plane then a random plane from the 6 we can buy separately is picked.  A post is made here on the forum offering it up and whoever posts first gets it.

 

I first though about this when I was listening to Jason's Q&A on Teamspeak and someone wanted to know how they could contribute money outside of buying the game, to help support the ongoing project.  Jason's reply was that he didn't want to set anything up (a newletter was the suggestion I think).  

 

If someone did this then they would be funding the game in a small way.

 

I am not interesting in doing it since IL-2 is not my main game, and as you can see from my post count I am not active here much.

I have to recover my 'slush' fund after my wife's recent birthday and a vacation, but then I'll start with a few planes.

I'll keep my eye out for someone in need who I think will get good use out of the planes.
