Can the TrackIR 5 Pro Clip be mounted on a headband?

I know this may seem silly but I'd prefer not to buy a headset in order to use the Pro Clip. I know I could wear a hat and use the normal IR sensors but from what I've read they're not as accurate and I really don't like wearing hats

Do you guys know if a headband might work or mind sharing any of your clever inventions?

You could wear some old headset with the earphones not over your ears. The way the mount works I think it needs the vertical solid piece coming down to your ear. I think it also needs something fairly rigid to mount to, not something floppy like fabric.

My monitors are too high for the TrackClip pro. I duck tape the deflectors on my headset.

Hmm, I could try using my old Xbox 360 headset. That should work. I just want something bulky on my head is all. Trying to go for something minimalistic.

Hey, if it works all the power to you! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

If you have not already committed to getting the TrackIR pro clip, you might be better off getting this:

The TrackIR pro clip is, as I'm sure you know, widely acclaimed to be a flimsy/fragile prone to breaking even through careful usage. Especially the clip part.

With the Delan head tracker, you can just duct-tape it to a head band, and let it hang down over/behind your ear.

Get a plastic hair band like my daughter wore when she was young and use that.

It would work perfectly.

I do not recommend leaving the house and going to the corner store with a pink one

Put a picture.

Ya WTornado has you covered, that's exactly what you need.

A horizontal circle around your head like a men's sport headband won't be the right angle. You need a vertical piece as other mentioned and I think WTornado's suggestion is the most minimal option you'll find.
