Nic727 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Hi, I read about the Il2 sturmovik aircraft, but it didn't very explained what's this little piece on the right side of the cockpit. Image : http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/il-2/il2-camo/il-2m/il2m-early--fl-am-3view-z18-28.jpg Any ideas?
Cybermat47 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Coming out of the wing? Apparently that's a filter, to keep dust out of the intake.

707shap_Srbin Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Il-2M and Il-2 typ3 are incorrect names. All Il-2's from beginning to the end of series called just "Il-2" in short, or "Il-2 AM-38, Il-38F, Il-2 AM-38F arrow wing". 1
Max_Damage Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 ok thank you. I also have another image of the IL-2 Type 3 1945 with the same kind of thing here : maybe it is a radio compass antennae
